Sukkah Building - Help Needed

Please come out Sunday morning, at 9:15 a.m. to help build the shul's Sukkah. We have bought a brand new Sukkah that is much larger than previous years. So we will desperately need people to help construct it, and people to help figure out how to construct. Veggie straws and soda for all those who show up (assuming we have not run out of veggie straws).

Sisterhood Mah Johngg Night - Oct 9

A New Sukkah for Arzei Darom

As many of you know, last year the shul's Sukkah was damaged.  This was an anticipated expense, and we planned to replace/repair the Sukkah as part of our operating budget.  We cannot find replacement parts, so we will need to replace the Sukkah - an expense the Shul can and will undertake.

In the past couple of weeks, however, some members have expressed an interest in contributing to the purchase of the shul's new Sukkah.  So for those interested, we will accept donations (and acknowledge the contributions in the weekly announcements).

To be clear, regardless of how many people choose to contribute, we will be buying a new Sukkah, and no one should feel pressure to contribute for the new Sukkah.  Any contribution received will be appreciated and used to purchase the Sukkah, with the rest covered by the operating budget.

Below are five levels for contributions:
Pillar:         $1000
Sustainer:    $500
Patron:         $250
Friend:         $125
Contributor:  $54

Thank you to the Knolls and Rothsteins, who have contributed towards the cost of the Sukkah.  More sponsors are welcome to join.

Wishing everyone a ketiva v'chatima tova!

Parsha: $100 - $179
Perek: $100 - $149

We anticipate maintaining the same pricing as prior luncheons:
Adults: $19

Kids (10 and under) option: $7

If you can help organize any part the luncheon, please contact Yosef Rothstein or Miles Levin.

Chair Fund Campaign- Eighty Percent Raised

As we begin to wrap up the Chair Fund Campaign, we want to thank the many families who
chose to be a part of this campaign. We believe that the new chairs (along with new carpet) are
the next big step (and one of the last) in creating a beautiful makom tefillah/main sanctuary, that everyone can and should be proud of. To date, 65 families have contributed, we have raised more than $34,000, and 190 chairs have been dedicated.

In the coming weeks we hope to finalize the fabric for the chairs and place the chairs order. So,
if you still want to be a part of this project, it is not too late. You can make a donation through
the shul’s website: https://www.arzeidarom.org/form/chairfund or by speaking to Yosef
Rothstein.

Crock Pot Kiddushes - Looking for Volunteers

We are underway planning the calendar for hot kiddushes. The Crock Pot Kiddush has been a very enjoyable experience over the years. Our shul has been fortunate over the years to have members volunteer their time to make delicious cholent for kiddush on Shabbos. We are looking to expand our group of volunteers so that we can have the Crock Pot Kiddush monthly, usually around Rosh Chodesh. Volunteers can be reimbursed up to $80 for ingredients. If you are interested in making cholent for the shul please contact Holly Weiss at holly.ohrenweiss1@gmail.com.

Kiddush Committee News

Kiddush clean up is on a rotating basis, based on your last name. While we recognize that everyone in your group may not be available each Shabbat, we ask that you pitch in if you are assigned in that month so that the same people are not doing the clean-up each week. We all like kiddushes and we all make plans for lunch after shul so please be respectful of your fellow congregants by helping out during your assigned month if you are in shul. We also ask that you please watch your children during Kiddush to the extent possible, and to place their finished items in the garbage cans provided.

September: Borgen, Borodach, Brodsky, Cohen, Darack

For more information on anything Kiddush-related, please contact Holly Weiss at kiddush@arzeidarom.org.

Eiruv Tavshilin Email Reminders
We started a free service a few years ago, sending email reminders on Erev Yom Tov to remind people to make an Eiruv Tavshilin. It has B"H been extremely successful so far and we would like to spread the word further to help as many people as possible. If you could spread the word about this to your email list/congregants, it would be a big chessed for them so that they won't forget to make an Eiruv Tavshilin before Rosh Hashana, Sukkos and Shmini Atzeres/Simchas Torah, which all fall out on Thursday/Friday.
