OSKA WINS THE MUSIC MOVES EUROPE AWARD 2023!
Big news! OSKA has just won the MUSIC MOVES EUROPE AWARD 2023! The coveted award was presented at Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS) on January 19th in Groningen! Schmyt (Germany), July Jones (Slovenia), OSKA (Austria), Kids Return (France), and Queralt Lahoz (Spain) are the winners of the Music Moves Europe Awards 2023. The prestigious Grand Jury Prize was awarded to Sans Soucis (Italy) and the Public Choice award was won by Jerry Heil (Ukraine). Quote from the jury report: “The international potential is there, OSKA has a lovely voice, something very sweet about it.”

“HOPE, THAT’S A BEAUTIFUL WORD” – MAHAN MIRARAB
Guitarist MAHAN MIRARAB spent December 2022 in the U.S., playing several concerts on the East and West Coasts. Now we’re sitting in a crowded Café Eiles in Vienna, a table between us piled high with the plates and cups of previous guests. “Pardon me,” Mahan says to an annoyed waiter who rushes past us. Mahan smiles. “That was almost nice, by our coffeehouse standards, wasn’t it?”.

AUSTRIAN ARTISTS AT JAZZAHEAD! 2023
Every year in April, jazzahead! turns the Northern German city into the most important meeting place for the international jazz scene. This year’s festival and fair will happen from April 27th to 30th, with 36 bands ready to hit the stages in Bremen. From Austria, Heinrich von Kalnein’s commissioned work (together with Jakob Helling), “ALPINE AIR” will be featured, as well as the quartet Purple is the Color and Gina Schwarz & Multiphonics 8 mark highlights on the showcase program. read more »
