So... what happened recently for FBB?
 
French BioBeach/Biocom & our French partners of the South Bio Alliance led the Avril 2015 Trade Delegation to the South of France
Delegation was composed of WSGR & 5 great Socal Companies joining us for your 2015 road show to the PACA region

 
 
When was it? April 27th-30th, 2015
Where was itFrom Nice to Marseilles, finishing in Aix-en-Provence

The Trade Delegation started in Nice, ending in Marseilles led by our French South Bio Alliance partners, ARII, Eurobiomed, Team Cote d'Azur, Provence Promotion, CCI Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur, SATT Sud Est.
 
The US delegation was composed of Joe Panetta (BIOCOM), Stephane Richard & Chrystel Gelin (French BioBeach), Jeff Guise (WSGR) as well as 5 Socal jewel companies, Onciomed (Raj Nihalani), Acea Biosciences (Mike Honeysett), Abreos Biosciences (Bradley Messmer & Dina Uzri), Flow Paradigm (Dana Buckman) and CVAC systems (Allen Ruskowski).

PHILADELPHIA BIO 2015: FRENCH COMPANIES BECOMING A FORCE IN THE US MARKET
 
According to Business France nearly 75 companies and 35 partners (non- profit organizations ,research institutes, universities and clusters ..) will be on the French pavilion. This important mobilization demonstrates how the issue of this industry remains important in France. The sector is posting impressive results in recent years particularly the debut of Celletcis and DBV Technologies in the NASDAQ stock exchange.

 Vanessa Villard, CEO and co-founder manages all operational and financial aspects of AmylgenWatch Vanessa’s video at the “prix national du jeune entrepreneur”. She received her PhD in Neurosciences from the University of Montpellier 2. Rare Diseases: Obstacles of Rare Disease Healthcare

There are approximately 7,000 identified rare diseases affecting 25 – 35 million Americans. Since 1983, when Congress passed The Orphan Drug Act to incentivize companies to develop treatments for rare diseases, the FDA has approved 340 treatments, addressing only 5% of rare diseases identified. Millennium Health and Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County announced today the launch of a new program, Beyond School Walls STEM, focused on providing at-risk youth in San Diego with curriculum designed to get them excited about entering the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Millennium Health has graciously partnered with Biocom to help recruit the life science community to volunteer as Bigs for this wonderful program. Are you interested in becoming a Big Sister of Big Brother but can't find the time? We have partnered with Millennium Health and Big Brothers Big Sisters to pair Biocom member employees with 11 - 13 year old girls and boys from vulnerable and underserved populations. The program runs through the 2015/2016 school year and you meet with your Little Brother/Sister for 90 minutes every other week from September through June at Biocom offices.
