Newsletter March 2021

Dear reader,

The administration of the corona vaccinations is in full swing. Both the Netherlands and Spain are a bit behind then some of the other European countries. Unfortunately, the number of infections in most European countries is increasing again, so that all measures are unlikely to be relaxed for the time being.

In this newsletter, Janet van Dam, our specialist in thermography, explains the benefits of breast screening using thermography, a painless, highly effective study that shows many aspects of breast health.

Kind regards,
Bernadette Veeger

Breasts Thermography – a window into your hormones and health

Breast thermography is a different way of assessing breast health than using a breast ultrasound or mammography.
This technique looks at both the activity in the body as well as the structure of the breast tissue. To this date, no other test can show us how our body reacts to heat or cold, pain, circulation or nerve problems and of course our hormones.

Hormones can be a real problem for women and mild symptoms can start as early as in the teen years. Girls as young as 13-14 years may already be prescribed the contraceptive pill to control their symptoms. The balance of normal hormone production is then disrupted. Suppressing the release of an egg -by the pill- year after year not only affects our sex organs (uterus, ovaries and breasts), but also our pituitary gland, adrenal glands, cortisol and thyroid hormone, because all our hormones work together and are connected to each other.

Hormone treatment is not something that goes unnoticed in the body. During my screenings I often notice something about menstruation, use of contraception or hormone replacement. I can also notice high estrogen activity in the breast during menopause, when the estrogen is high and the progesterone is low. On the thermography they can see inflammation in the breasts, cysts, activity in the blood vessels, evidence of breast cancer and blockage of the lymph nodes. On our website  you will see several photos of these deviating images.

Therefore, in my experience, long-term use of hormones, especially the progesterone-only pill, can be a real problem to our general health. There are alternatives: Homeopathic treatment can be very beneficial for women of all ages to help regulate their cycles and learn how to deal with symptoms of menopause.

Changing your diet may help balance your hormones. Movement is also important and do not wear bras that are too tight. If you have any questions, please contact Centro Mar y Salud.
