Holden House Pikes Peak Visit Tips: Be sure to book ahead to ensure you can reserve tickets and we recommend making a reservation for the morning and noon trains as they generally offer better scenery and clear views due to our common occasional afternoon showers (and sometimes snow) in the late afternoons. We recommend wearing layered clothing, including a jacket or sweatshirt and long pants as temps drop considerably in the high country and take along your camera or smartphone for some amazing photos along the way. You may even see native wildlife such as deer, bear, marmots. Whether you ride the Cog Railway or Drive the Highway, enjoy our nationally known mountain up close and personal.
 BIGFOOT HIGHWAY SAFETY REMINDER: Should you see Bigfoot along the road, heed the warnings of highway crossing signs, drive carefully and stop for "wildlife". It is recommended that you not approach, but have your camera/smartphone ready to share your #Bigfoot experience to prove to others that Bigfoot is in fact, real. Often confused with Yetis and Sasquatch, Bigfoot is actually the hairy brown cousin of the well-known Abominable Snowman. According to scientific experts, Bigfeet (plural) live in the wild and leave behind, you guessed it, extra large footprints.
"DONUT" MISS THE OPPORTUNITY: Be sure to try the world-famous donuts at the top of Pikes Peak, best with a side of hot chocolate in the rebuilt and renovated Summit House. Baking donuts at over 14,000 feet (where high altitude makes a huge difference) takes a special skill and recipe. Try it, you'll like it!

Victorian Style - Great location in old town where the home captures a great victorian style. Facilities were comfortable and quiet. The staff was very friendly and served a tremendously delicious breakfast everyday. They were all great to make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay pleasant. We will stay there again.
