In honor of Shavuot, we are now kicking off the start of a shul wide learning program of Tanach. Men, women, and children are encouraged to sign-up to choose a sefer for independent study, using the attached Google Drive. The completion date is for the Second Day of Shavuot.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1g7fvIpNE4xsT7POMUy15z45bQWlWd70ULmJgV2qoB8U/edit?usp=sharing

Our hope is to have every member of the Arzei Darom community participate in this siyum. In order to allow everyone to participate, regardless of their background or skill set, we have broken the portions up in to small manageable sizes. In addition, there are many wonderful online shiurim that cover the text of each of the books of Tanach, which can help you get through a sefer. For example, the OU has a series of shiurim, both on the weekly Torah portions, and on each sefer of Nach. Links to each series is provided below and can be used to get you through a portion of Nach:

https://www.ou.org/torah/parsha-series/shnayim-mikra/#?

https://www.ou.org/torah/nach-series/nach-yomi/#?

Please also consider sponsoring this wonderful event! If possible, we hope to have a community wide luncheon to celebrate the siyum, and hope to keep the cost as low as possible to allow everyone to participate.

We've been doing these for a year and are always seeking new families to take the challenge.

Kiddush clean up is on a rotating basis, based on your last name. While we recognize that everyone in your group may not be available each Shabbat, we ask that you pitch in if you are assigned in that month so that the same people are not doing the clean-up each week. We all like kiddushes and we all make plans for lunch after shul so please be respectful of your fellow congregants by helping out during your assigned month if you are in shul. We also ask that you please watch your children during Kiddush to the extent possible, and to place their finished items in the garbage cans provided.
