AU.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum is only a mile from Holden Houses you approach the museum, what strikes you first is the skyward modern architectural shape, which during the design of the building, received an Architectural Digest recognition for “leading design-forward museums” in 2020. Of the 10,000 individual diamond panels, no two are the same size or shape. The exterior landscaping surrounding the museum, complements the theme of the building and takes advantage of a city-scape to the east and views of America’s Mountain, Pikes Peak, to the west. U.S. Olympic flags and banners line the walkways, symbolizing the pride associated with the Olympic Games.
From U.S. Olympic figure skater Peggy Fleming to speed skater Bonnie Blair, track and field’s Jesse Owens to Paralympian alpine skier Tyler Carter, the new U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum shares the history and celebration of our U.S. Olympic and Paralympic competitors.

In addition, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic MuseumPikes Peak Highway, Seven Falls, Garden of the Gods and many more activities are open and ready to make your Pikes Peak region visit an awe-inspiring experience. For the Adventurous: Looking for something adventurous without doing the driving? Adventures Out West offers a variety of high country jeep tours. Their optional packages also include ziplines, ballooning, hiking, biking, fishing and climbing for all types of outdoor interests.

Rockin' the Parks: Our local Colorado Springs and El Paso County parks are free and open to the public from dawn til dark and offer scenic mountain to red rock canyon views. You'll want to make a stop in Garden of the Gods Park, a continued top vote-getter of visitors or drive up America's Mountain, Pikes Peak. The new Pikes Peak Summit House is under construction, as is the updated and reconstructed Pikes Peak Cog Railway. Both of these are scheduled to open next year.

Not just for Fishin': Interested in hiking in one of our great Colorado State Parks like nearby Mueller or Cheyenne Mountain State Park? If so, you'll need a Colorado fishing license in addition to paying an entrance fee. This has been implemented to assist Colorado Parks and Wildlife during COVID-19 in maintaining these open spaces. If you are more interested in a National Park, no license is required, but you made need to pay admission. We have many places close by to purchase a license, including our great local fly fishing store, Angler's Covey, which is only a few blocks away. Angler's Covey offers guides, lessons and has an extensive store including all the equipment, flies and lures, outdoor clothing and everything you need to fish in Colorado's gold medal trout streams and lakes.

Back in the Saddle: We're so excited that the historic Flying W Ranch is back in the saddle again with their chuckwagon dinners and cowboy Western show. This is something we've anticipated since a forest fire impacted the Ranch. Make your reservations ahead as seating is limited.

Climbin' the Incline: Just 2,744 steps and gaining 2,000 feet in elevation from start to finish, the Manitou Incline's average grade is 45% and some places, it's as steep as 68%. New this year, for those wanting to hike up the Manitou Incline, you'll need to make free reservations in order to make the strenuous trek. Be aware, it's not for the faint of heart and only for those who are accustomed to the altitude and in excellent physical condition.
