Virtual eCPR Trainings sponsored by the
National Empowerment Center
Session 1: May 14 & 16, 2025
and
Session 2: June 24 & 25, 2025

DESCRIPTION:
Emotional CPR (eCPR) is a profound process of reclaiming our Connection (to self and others), embodying emPowerment, and ultimately feeling Revitalized. The certification training engages your heart and mind in an experiential and unfolding process that includes embracing mutual support. With over a decade of providing this training widely in the U.S with rapid expansion globally, the consistent feedback is that it helps us become better listeners and supporters; and it changes our perception of not only ourselves but of the world around us; it teaches us how to tap into our well of compassion and enhance all our relationships.
Thriving in these times of uncertainty means we need to practice self-care and reclaim our ability to feel connected, empowered, and revitalized. Honestly, many of us were pleasantly surprised at how effective eCPR training has been in our new virtual training space; the energy, the safety, the sense of closeness and connection are all there. We invite you to join us from wherever you are for one of these live trainings.
Those of us with lived experience of severe emotional distress have been well prepared for this global crisis because we have long known that our healing and resilience are enhanced by our connecting at a heart-to-heart level. eCPR certification training helps to alleviate the trauma of isolation and separation by laying a foundation for healing and wellness.

Kimberly Ewing and Oryx Cohen

Kimberly Ewing

As a person with lived experience and one who crosses many paths of intersectionality, Kim is passionate about mental wellness, racial healing, social justice, racial equality, human rights, bullying prevention, empowering allies and educating humans of all ages. Kim joined the National Empowerment Center as the new Coordinator/Consultant of Emotional CPR in October 2021 and later promoted as the Director of Training and Engagment. She's an international eCPR Trainer, Implicit Bias Trainer, Anti-Racist Trainer, Diversity Trainer, a Certified Olweus Bullying Prevention Trainer, and a Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE) Facilitator. Her favorite hashtag is #ImStillHealing and she believes that we all are doing some version of it. She believes in speaking truth coupled with compassion and that eCPR is the very foundation of being human. One of her only regrets is that she wished she knew eCPR as a young person because it would have made a huge difference with those she encountered along the way.

                                                 Emotional CPR Book

Emotional CPR: Assisting People through Emotional Distress recounts how a team, mainly comprising individuals with personal experiences of severe mental health conditions, developed a novel method to aid those in mental health crises. Unlike conventional approaches, this method prioritizes establishing a heart-to-heart connection over diagnosis. By treating individuals as resourceful, the approach empowers them to navigate their path forward, fostering revitalization. This approach reflects how the Emotional CPR developers desired to be treated during their own distress, and how such treatment facilitated their journey through distress.
