CONFERENCE SEASON
The last monts of the year are traditionally the months in which
most of the conferences that are important to COSMIC take place. In this
newsletter we will briefly introduce the following conferences:
CNMES'15 Mexico-City September 2-4
IWSM-Mensura Cracow
(Poland) October 5-7
Intl. COCOMO Forum Arlington VA (USA) November 16-18
CNMES'15
The first edition of the Congreso Nacional de Medición y
Estimación de Software aims to bring together professionals, students,
clusters, development companies and sellers of software products with the
latest trends in measurement and estimation software provide formal and
professional solutions to manage and effectively control the software
development capability.
In addition to this event, launching the Mexican Association of
Software Metrics (AMMS), serving a need for meaningful metrics that provide
certainty for agents of the Mexican Industry Software Development in hiring
will take place, project management, comparison of methodologies, skills
development and encourage increased productivity and competitiveness both
internally and externally.
Both the Chairman and the President of COSMIC will be present.
IWSM Mensura 2015
Although the IWSM Mensura conference has a broader scope than
COSMIC, over the years this conference has evolved as the main conference for
publishing advances of the COSMIC method. The day before the conference there
will be an open COSMIC meeting in which the progress of the COSMIC method is
discussed.
INTERNATIONAL FORUM ON COCOMO
Bruce Reynolds, one of our IAC-representatives to the United
States, will be giving a presentation titled “Introduction to the COSMIC method
of measuring software” at the 30th International Forum on COCOMO and
Systems/Software Cost Modeling. This is a great opportunity to share the COSMIC
ideas with a great number of leading experts in the Software Cost Estimating
community.
JOIN THE DISCUSSION
A longstanding wish of many members of the COSMIC community is
to have a discussion forum to exchange
information. This was in some form available in the COSMIC User Group on LinkedIN. On the new website we
have created a real forum that is much better
suited to discuss practical issues and share information. When you have registered with the website, you can join the discussion. We have copied
some relevant discussions from the COSMIC User Group to get started.
COSMIC-SIZING.ORG
This is the new home of the COSMIC method on internet. Not only
suited for your laptop or desktop, but also accessible from your tablet or
