Issue #184  November 2020

So... as the pandemic goes on (and on and on...) have you noticed how we seem to be setting MUCH lower expectations for our wellbeing? “Hope you’re hanging in there” seems to be the new “Hope you’re doing well.”

But with the virus spiking in so many places and with the holidays looming, I'm thinking maybe its time for us to lower our expectations about the rest of this year (holidays included), because let's face it... very little about the holidays are likely to be "normal" this year, right? So I recommend adopting the following mantra for the next few weeks...

NOT everything will be okay BUT SOME THINGS WILL.                                So be on the alert for those "some things". Hold tight and treasure them as they come. It could very well make the difference between doing well thru the holidays and "just hanging in there".

November 2020 "Eye Candy"
It’s time for your monthly treat for the eyes & here’s the deal…this month's selection of bags is REALLY lovely, in fact... they're all GORGEOUS! And ALL of the bags pictured below have been shared recently on either our FaceBook business page, our Instagram feed or on our Group page on FaceBook
(For LARGER images: Click on each individual pic)
This beauty by Melissa Clubine who said this is her first Quattro, even though she’s had the pattern for quite a while! As it turns out, she never could find the fabric she could see “becoming” this purse… until NOW!

Nancy Rosa made this Sling Along for a friend who chose this unusual bird fabric and told Nancy to pair it with fabric of her own choosing. Great choice Nancy!
 And if we're featuring “Day of the Dead” fabric, it must be close to “Día de Muertos”! And this Flaptastic looks INCREDIBLE in sugars skulls, thanks to the expert sewing skills of Don Distler!

And speaking of 1st-time makes, this was Melanie Kleinsorge‘s 1st Walkabout Wallet & she’s pleased with it. Melanie said she learned a lot during the process & will definitely be making more of these wallets!

Sue Bambery was oh-so proud of her 1st Sling Along and I can see why! The blue fabric Sue chose makes me think back fondly of a blue bandana I enjoyed wearing in highschool!

And its with great pleasure that I proudly introduce the very first OutBreaker to be featured in one of our “Eye Candy” posts! It was created by our favorite sewing dude…Don Distler!

And this time Nancy Rosa used some pretty fall tapestry fabric for this Sling Along! For my part, I love what the orange zipper & matching clip do for this beauty!

And here’s Nancy Rosa‘s Sling Along “study in black & white” and as a full-on fan of all things black & white… I LOVE this bag!
Nancy Rosa said this Sling Along was the 1st of a number of “Mexican-themed” Sling Along‘s requested for specifically by friends!

And finally, here’s a strikingly beautiful Side Slinger created by Joy Carr who added “what fun it was to make!” fantastic job Joy! Thanks for sending me this picture!

A cat had to be rescued after scaling a 25-foot fence and breaking into a prison in Cumbria. Inmates and staff at HM Prison Haverigg spotted the animal, named Padfoot, walking precariously along razor wire after he got stuck inside the prison perimeter. Padfoot, who was reluctant to come down, was eventually rescued by RSPCA staff and taken to a vet with minor injuries.                                                  {Click HERE to read more about this brave cat!}
