For OFFSCREEN, Bea de Visser (lecturer at HKU Audiovisual Media) made a test version/try-out of her installation with the same title as her film 'No horses on Mars' (2024), which was selected for the 'Golden Calf' competition during the Netherlands Film Festival 2024.

The installation 'No horses on Mars' is an acoustic imagination, a remarkable experience in which the viewer becomes someone else through an authentic audio representation of the subjective point of view of the animal. Through the sound filter of the horse we hear a different and equally real world than the one we see projected. We hear the complex reality of the horse, the ‘animal hearing’, and see the ‘human gaze’.
