21 October: EPP leaders to meet for Summit in Brussels ahead of meeting of the European Council - list of participants

EU heads of state and government, opposition leaders of the European People’s Party (EPP) and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der LEYEN will participate in the upcoming EPP Summit, to take place in Brussels on 21 October. On the agenda is the preparation for the European Council 21 and 22 October.
EPP President Donald TUSK will host the Summit. The Chairman of the EPP Group in the European Parliament, Manfred WEBER, EPP Secretary General Antonio LÓPEZ-ISTÚRIZ and the members of the EPP Presidency will participate. 
Heads of government Krišjānis KARIŅŠ (Latvia), Angela MERKEL (Germany), Kyriakos MITSOTAKIS (Greece), Andrej PLENKOVIĆ (Croatia) and Alexander SCHALLENBERG (Austria) will participate. Prime Minister Eduard HEGER (Slovakia) will attend the summit as a guest.
Deputy Prime Ministers Zsolt SEMJÉN (Hungary), Vincent VAN PETEGHEM (Belgium), Leo VARADKAR (Ireland) and opposition leaders Pablo CASADO (Spain), Bernard GRECH (Malta), Christian JACOB (France), Petteri ORPO (Finland) and Claude WISELER (Luxembourg) will also be present.

Date: 21 October from 12:30 until 14:30 
Venue: Stanhope Hôtel, Rue du Commerce 9, 1000 Bruxelles

Press registration: 
The Press working area will be located at the EPP Headquarters, 10 Rue du Commerce, 1000 Bruxelles and will open at 11:00. 
 
COVID-19 rules:
For access to the event, all attendees must be able to show proof of full vaccination (at least 2 weeks prior), a negative PCR test (within 48  hours) or proof of recovery from COVID-19 dating back no more than 180 days. This may be subject to change in accordance with regional requirements.
