Minyan Time Changes
As we head into the fall months, it is becoming harder to maintain our Mincha/Ma’ariv minyan b’zman. Therefore, we will be suspending Mincha during the week until next spring. We want to thank all those who attended throughout this spring and summer. There was not a single time that we were looking for extra people, so yasher cochachem! In the same vein, we will be moving Ma’ariv to 8:15 PM for now. We had a terrific turnout when Mincha/ Ma’ariv was at this time, and we hope that with your continued support, we can have a successful Ma’ariv minyan throughout the fall and winter months. Please contact Ron Goldgewert at president@arzeidarom.org if you would like to suggest a different time.
We will also soon be moving into the Yamim Noraim. Baruch Hashem our morning minyan is going strong (although more participants would always be welcome), and therefore, we are going to be saying Slichot before shacharit this year. We will be sending out specific minyan times next week. We ask that all those intending to attend morning minyan please come on time so that we can start Slichot with a minyan without delay.

JOFA's Ta Shma: Come & Learn: A Daughter’s Recitation of Mourner’s Kaddish
Sunday, September 18 at 7:30pm The Davar Institute 1500 Sussex Road, Teaneck, NJ Free Books will be for sale at a discount.
Explore the Sources: Reciting mourner’s kaddish for a parent stands at the heart of the Jewish bereavement experience. While traditionally this public recitation has been seen as a son’s responsibility, a daughter reciting kaddish is not a modern concept. The halakhic literatureaddresses questions such as: May a daughter recite mourner’s kaddish? May she recite kaddish alone or must it be in conjunction with a man? Should her kaddish be said aloud or quietly? Speaker: Rahel Berkovits is the author of this ground-breaking source guide. She lectures in Mishnah, Talmud and halakhah at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem. She has published entries in the CD-ROM, Jewish Women: A Comprehensive Historical Encyclopedia and lectures widely in both Israel and the United States on topics concerning women and Jewish law.
