( ( click here if images / full email doesn't load ) )

hello from Chris + Jennifer of What Cheer & our Rock + Roll Yard Sales.

this is the call-for-vendors for our annual Spring Event which will
be held on Saturday 2nd May 2020 in and around Grant's Block in
downtown Providence, Rhode Island. this popular events is the
kick-off of
Providence's Block Party / Festival Season.

for years the Providence Rock + Roll Yard Sale has been part of
an annual Spring block party in Providence, RI. in past years the event
has had different names / themes but this year we've
likely settled on a permanent one . . .

the InDowncity Block Party & Providence Rock + Roll Yard Sale

\

the event is co-organized and promoted by What Cheer?
and
InDowcity Providence. it will be held outdoors where our
vendors will be accompanied by lots of food trucks, bars
activities and music so people can dance in the streets
to celebrate the coming of Spring.

the details a fairly similar to our past Spring events in
Providence with a few changes: the theme, and the hours.
we've decided to bump things up an hour to start at Noon
and go until 7pm. this should be good for everyone.

[ please read entire email to make sure the event is right for you

SATURDAY 2nd MAY 2020

PROVIDENCE ROCK + ROLL YARD SALE

InDOWNCITY   BLOCK   PARTY
GRANT'S BLOCK in DOWNTOWN PROVIDENCE
WESTMINSTER + UNION STREETS
FREE ADMISSION !
NOON-7PM

please take your time with the application and make sure
you spell everything correctly (especially your email address!)
and provide working links, a good photo, etc. and also
to make sure that this event is right for you.

we recommend that you fill the app out online (not on phones).

this is one of our most popular events. thousands of people
attended every year. it's the kick-off of
Providence's Block Party
Season and it's now our only Providence area event.

vendor space is limited so be sure to
apply right away if you're
interested in vending
as space will sell out. we're looking for vendors
to sell a mix of records / vintage / DIY handmade goods
(we're NOT looking for food vendors).

click here for our online vendor application

this is an outdoor event with vendor spaces up to 10' x 10' to
allow for standard eventing tents set up "flea market style" with
nothing provided but empty space, so be advised you'll need to
provide your own tent, tables and chairs if you need them.

you can share a space but it's entirely up to you to find someone
to share with. if you're approved and you'd like to share your space
just let us know who you're sharing with so that we can publicize
everyone's participation. if sharing a space, only one of you
should fill out the application and pay the vendor fee.

the layout for the event is basically the same as the last few years
with
our vendors taking up the entire large parking lot adjacent to
Grant's Block between Weybosset and Westminster Streets allowing
for much more space and safety for vendors and shoppers.

the above map should give you an idea of this year's layout. it's
from last year, and while there will be some small changes due to
construction, etc., overall it's the same idea. the blue squares are
vendor spaces and likely how we will have things set up.

all vendor spaces will be assigned ahead of time.
 here's how things work

apply right away if you'd like to be considered as a vendor. if your
application is approved, we will send you a confirmation email with
more information and how to pay the vendor fee.

the vendor fee for this is $75 due in advance of the event.
vendor spaces are only reserved by paying the vendor fee in advance
of the event and are reserved on a 1st-come-first-paid basis.

the vendor fee is to be paid through PayPal or Venmo. if you
don't have either of these sorts of accounts, you can easily use them
to make a credit card / bank payment through their sites. their accounts
are free and recommend if you intend to regularly do our events.

we'll send payment info once you apply online

(1) you apply, (2) we approve your application if you applied
before we're sold out of space, (3) we send you an acceptance email
along with payment information, (4) you get to sell at the event
if your payment is received before we're sold out of space.

~ Our Basic Terms
|

if approved and you pay on time you're in!

but you must agree to all of terms/rules in this email, our
online vendor application, confirmation email, and our vendor
details email (sent out closer to the date of the event itself).
|
vendor fees are not refundable for any reason.
|
we normally have a raindate for our events, but this one is
rain or shine due to permitting issues. we realize that this is a
risk for vendors, and we've taken that into consideration (we had
planned on increasing vendor fees this year, but we've
kept it the same for the time being).
|
nothing illegal or incredibly offensive may be sold.

you also must pick up after yourselves. if you leave
trash or anything else in your space, you will be banned
from doing any of our future events.
|
by applying, you also agree to not hold us, our business,
our events, our cats, our sponsors, or anyone else liable for any
loss or damage incurred before, during or after this event.

our blanket peddler's license will cover all of the vendors
but it's your responsibility to deal with Rhode Island sales tax.
if you already have a tax number with the State of Rhode Island,
you are all set with this (please include your tax number when you
submit your application). if you do not have one you can get
one for just $10 annually from the State of Rhode Island.
|
if you have any questions, just reply to this email.
