Dear Advocates, Friends, and Colleagues,
Thank you to the nearly 200 individuals who joined or registered for our recent NCMHR Advocacy Committee Meeting. The energy and shared commitment to advancing a rights-based, trauma-informed approach to mental health were truly inspiring. In response to growing national threats to community-based mental health services and the urgent need for coordinated action, the National Coalition for Mental Health Recovery (NCMHR) and MindFreedom International (MFI) are expanding opportunities to connect, strategize, and take action together.

This space is designed for those ready to build concrete, peer-driven solutions and advance systemic and grassroots advocacy efforts.

Our collective focus includes:
• Advocacy Training – “Big A” (policy change) and “little a” (self-advocacy), informed consent, and person-centered care
• State & Local Activation – Action toolkits and engagement with local boards and legislators
• National Rights Education – Promoting trauma-informed perspectives and advancing human rights protections
• Scaling Non-Coercive Alternatives – Expanding Peer Respites, Soteria Houses, Open Dialogue, eCPR, Housing First, and Self-Direction programs
