Hi everyone,

We've had another eventful week.  On Sunday we avoided a lackluster Super Bowl by retracing Karen Carpenter’s final journey.  It was a little worrisome because of all the ground we had to cover and the rain and all, but that actually led to the best part— an enormous double rainbow appeared.  It showed itself right after we left Karen's crypt and got back on the freeway.  This rainbow was so bright, so vivid... it was almost solid.  Plus it seemed like it was touching the road in front of us.  It was nuts... people were veering off the road to get photographs of this thing.

The next day was Karen’s actual deathaversary … and it was a rainy day on Monday.  Do you see what she did there?

The next Karen CarpenTour is February 2, 2020 and, as always, it’s Super Bowl Sunday.  So, you can yell at the TV, drink the golden pee water and eat “cheese product” or you can be one of the cool kids and join us for the best day ever while cruising around Southern California and singing along to easy listening classics. Thanks to everyone who joined us.

On Saturday we debuted the long-awaited Black Dahlia Mystery Tour. Again, rain rain rain and that made it very noir noir noir.  We’ve incorporated multiple theories to give guests a well-rounded outlook of the case.  Because the case is unsolved, everything is technically a theory anyway.  We try to show you who Elizabeth Short was as a person, what Los Angeles was like right after World War II, some of the suspects (there were a zillion but we narrow it down for you) and visit sites that are associated with the crime, including where her body was discovered.  There are a very few landmark murders in Los Angeles that changed the city forever and this was the first.  The next Dahlia tour runs on February16th and more will be added soon.  Book here.

The Biltmore Hotel where the Black Dahlia was last seen alive.  Or was it...

Our buddy Jordan the Lion came along on the inaugural tour and vlogged about it. You can check it out here.

Because of this rain (seriously, LA falls AH-PART when it rains) we have to postpone our garage sale by one week.  If you are planning on coming (of course you are)  please update your schedule. Sorry about the inconvenience.  It hasn’t rained in 10 years and now suddenly we’re London.  Cheers.

We've just released the latest episode of the Dearly Departed Podcast.

On this episoe we discuss various aspects of the death of Walt Disney, we touch on the Dahlia, the obligatory Helter Skelter portion and a bit of a childish rant.  Hey, it's free.  Please listen in, subscribe on iTunes or Google Play or Stitcher, and if you get a moment, please leave us an honest review.  It would really mean a lot.

Love,
Scott and the Dearly Departed Team
