Alternatives 2021 workshop proposals will be accepted
through April 23, 2021.
The National Coalition for Mental Health Recovery (NCMHR) is proud to host the 2021 (Virtual) Alternatives Conference, now in its 35th year. We look forward to connecting nationally and internationally with old friends and colleagues, and to making new connections. We’re excited about having a virtual conference this year so that everyone from anywhere can attend: Please join from wherever you are! And, thanks to our generous sponsors, you can present a workshop or attend the conference for free! There is only a small fee for those who require continuing education units (CEUs). Your individual donations are also greatly appreciated.
We will learn from the professional and personal experience of those who are involved in successful peer programs. There will also be an opportunity to roll up our sleeves and have a voice by joining specific Action Groups in areas we’re passionate about. We’ll work together to expand our influence and make a difference in our own communities. We’ll connect with one another and enjoy some entertaining activities as well!
We invite you to share your wisdom and expertise by submitting a proposal for a 45-minute workshop in one of the categories below. More details are available at the website (

- Advocacy
- Preventing Crisis
- Protecting Rights
- Promoting Social Justice and Social Inclusion
- Youth Empowerment
- Healing Through the Arts, Holistic Health, Wellness, and Spirituality
- Economic Empowerment
