Ours certainly was — filled with inspiring musical encounters, gathering new ideas, and more performances than we originally expected. Now we’re refreshed, inspired and ready for an exciting new season!
Starting Fall in Newburgh
We kick off September with two Duo Laroo/Byrd concerts at Holland Tunnel Gallery in Newburgh, NY, combining music and visual art in this inspiring gallery setting.
Saturday, September 5 – Groovy Gallery Concert
7–10 PM
An evening of jazz, funk, soul and spontaneous improvisation.
Sunday, September 6 – Lazy Sunday Afternoon Jazz Exhibition
A relaxed afternoon of jazz, original music and improvisation surrounded by art.

Back to the Netherlands – Tuschinski Festival
Next we cross the Atlantic for the Tuschinski Festival in Rotterdam on Saturday, September 12, where the Saskia Laroo Band will close the festival.
Expect jazz, funk, hip hop, grooves, improvisation and plenty of Laroo energy!

Jazzkia Goes Into the Studio
Also in September, Jazzkia heads into the studio of Clous van Mechelen for new video recordings.
We’re excited to capture this project on video and look forward to sharing the results with you!
October – Two Nights at Jeker Jazz
In October we head south to Maastricht for two nights during Jeker Jazz:

Two different bands, two different flavors — jazz, funk, blues, grooves and lots of improvisation.
Then Back to the USA
After our European dates, we’ll return to the United States for more concerts, including performances with The Afro-Semitic Experience and more to come.
One of the upcoming dates is November 8 at Temple Beth Shalom in Mahopac, NY, where The Afro-Semitic Experience will share old favorites as well as music from the forthcoming album Exodus to Emancipation.
We’re looking forward to a musical Fall on both sides of the Atlantic — and hope to see many of you along the way!
