Virtual Classes with Helene Eriksen &
ANAR DANA now available for anyone anywhere!

Dear friends,
The last month has been a challange to everyone and my heart goes out to you around the globe.  I have continued to expand on my virtual offerings and am very excited to let you know how you, wherever you are on this planet, can join the women of ANAR DANA San Francisco in May for a month of intensive deep study.  We will be working for 4 weekends in May for 3 hours each Saturday and Sunday.  We have chosen a time in the morning on the West Coast of the USA that makes it possible for people on the East Coast or in South America to join us in the afternoon and people in Europe to join us in the evening.  (If you are farther afield you can join us in the middle of the night if you want!!!)  If you can't afford regular tuition you can contact me for a variety of funding options...everyone should be able to dance with us!  Si estás en Argentina tenemos un precio solidario especialmente para vos y podés pagar con Mercado Pago. We will be working on the following repertoire: Dances of the Sahraoui people of the West Sahara, Khalegi dances of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, Čoček Macedonian Romani dances, dances of the Armenian diaspora in Fresno, CA of the 1950's, Russian Khorovod songs and dances, Azeri Yalli dances from Nakhchivan and court dances from Bokhara, Uzbekistan.  You can read more about the project here: http://anardanasf.weebly.com

In conjunction with the ANAR DANA SF project we will be hosting 2 Cultural Talks on May 15 & 29th (also at time accessable to all).  One is about the History and Culture of Armenia and the second about Diaspora Armeian Music and Dance in the USA, specifically Fresno of the 1950's.  I'm absolutely thrilled to welcome a guest speaker Harout Arakelian to join me.

ANAR DANA Seattle will have two Cultural talks June 5th and 26th.  The first on multi cultural Bosnia and I will be joined by guest speaker Peter Lipman and the second on the Andalusian musical heritage of North Africa.

If you want to join us around the world on Saturdays in April and both Saturdays and Sundays in May for gentle community yoga we have a class again at a time accessable for most everyone. Class is by donation via paypal on my webpage.  If that doesn't work for you just contact me!

I also want to acknowlege Natalie Nayun here for putting together an extraodinary collective of dance classes for Central Asian and Persian dance with incredible teachers from around the world in a platform called Pomegranate Garden Dance.  I am teaching several weekly classes there and giving several cultural talks as well.  Join us the next two Sundays April 19th and 26th for talks about Azerbaijan and then Afghanistan. You can see the whole schedule here and find information about my offerings below in the calendar. https://www.gofundme.com/f/pomegranategardendance

Another shout out to Jessaiah Zure for organizing very interesting panel discussions.  This month there are two panel discussions on Roma Music and Dance in Turkey and SE Europe. I'm thrilled to be part of a panel that includes Carol Silverman, Sonia Seeman, Kristin Raeesi and Jessaiah Zure on April 19th.  Donations go to help a Romani relief fund in Prilep, Macedonia.

Finally I am glad to teach online private lessons or organize a group lesson for a subject that you are interested in.

If you want to work on your basic tango technique or for couples that are isolated together Marcelo Taglioferro and I would be glad to offer virtual Tango coaching.

I am so grateful to all of my students and colleagues for their continued support of my work and for the extraordinary display of solidarity that I am seeing around the world.  Thank you all!
Helene
