In my world we are settling down into fall. Solas & I picked out our pumpkins from the farmer's market the other day, and just last night we lit the wood stove for the first time, celebrating the return of its presence in our home that will keep us warm through the gray days of winter.
But before those days start, there are still some fall festivities to be had!
* Livermore's Artwalk @ 3:30pm *
This weekend I'll play a solo set in front of the Bankhead Theater in downtown Livermore as part of Livermore's 12th annual Artwalk. Head east from the San Fransisco Bay Area on Saturday and you will find the streets of Livermore filled with beautiful artwork, food and music! I'll be playing at 3:30pm sharp. * Debut of “Upaj:Improvise” at the Mill Valley Film Fest *
I was delighted to be commissioned to record some of the vocal tracks on the music for this film. It is an incredible story documenting the relationship of 60 year old Katak dancer Pandit Chitresh Das, and 30 year old tap dancer Jason Samuels Smith, and the meeting of their very different worlds, art forms and lives. The film will be making its debut at the Mill Valley Film Festival this weekend, with screenings on both Saturday and Sunday. For those of you in Santa Cruz, it will also be showing at the Rio Theater as part of the Pacific Rim Film Festival on Wednesday October 23rd

* Pescadero Country Store ~ Sun Oct 27th *
This will be the last show of the season at this lovely picnic spot in this adorable west coast village. Take a drive along Highway One, pick out your pumpkin, and come enjoy the family-friendly music: 12:30pm!
* Songwriting Class in November *
For many artists it is a given that you share what you know. Over the last few years I have been incorporating teaching more deeply into my life and I am truly enjoying this aspect of music making. I am still taking private students, and in November I'll be offering a four week class at the Santa Cruz Mountains Art Center for students ages 12-17 called The Art of Songwriting
. Please pass the word along if you know anyone who might be interested. You can also sign up here: http://www.mountainartcenter.org
