Many of you have inquired about the condition of Russell Conaway who suffered a cardiac arrest at approximately 12.5 miles into the race.
I am pleased to say that after some time in the Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading he is now home and on the way to recovery.
He was first treated by a couple of spectators who applied CPR and then a nurse and a doctor who were both running took over until St. John Ambulance arrived. It was the speed of this intervention that was so critical in increasing his chance of survival.
If you were involved in helping him, can you please make yourself known to us, as Russell has asked that you be thanked for saving his life.
