The Smart Cities concept challenges more and more visionaries, developers and investors to test the limit of their knowledge and experience. Bulgaria has a unique chance to implement the best practices from pioneers and to make its own developments. The upcoming edition of seeSUSTAINtec
(7-9 April 2020, Sofia, Bulgaria) will highlight the role of ICT and IoT for the progress of sustainable cities. In today's newsletter we introduce one of exhibitors and a conference topic.

PeepNee will present smart mailbox at seeSUSTAINtec.

Its creators tell us its story. The purpose of the first smart mailbox model we created was purely experimental. Starting after an award in a technology hackathon, with this model we wanted to prove that it is possible to automate/robotize something, which at first glance looks like it has lost its core function. Immediately after our participation in the hackathon, many other appearances followed. Some of them were HackAUBGRinker Accelarator and Sofia Startup Live. These events were of great importance to us, because in these forums we were able to gather a lot of feedback. After each of the appearances, we tried to upgrade our prototype more and more, based on feedback and comments. So, after about a year and a half, we had already achieved almost 100% of what was set by ourselves as the final goal. More
Sofia Investment Agency will announce the Sofia Digital Transformation Strategy at the forum.
The team of Sofia Investment Agency, that released the strategy after 18 months of meetings and workshops with different stakeholders of the innovation ecosystem in the city, has identified four focus areas where particular actions are needed. Three of them are on the demand side: e-Government, Energy and Water, and Transport. And one is on the supply side – the local ICT and startup ecosystem. In other words, the agency hopes to be able to find a way to bridge the digitalization needs of the city in these three domains with local innovative solution providers.
