Because of the challenges and requirements of the waste management sector we are glad to introduce a successful public-private partnership for waste management. The company Kostinbrod Eco will be presented for the first time at the Save the Planet exhibition. A good example for all Bulgarian municipalities to achieve recycling targets by public-private partnership.

In this Newsletter we will also provide information about our partner - Branch Association Polymers (BAP) - a non-profit organization, representing the companies operating in the plastics converting industry in Bulgaria. You will also find more interesting news at the website of our partner Recycling Industry.

Interview with Ms. Teodora Valcheva, Manager of Kostinbrod Eco AD

Mrs. Valcheva, tell us briefly about the path you have gone through. What are the results at the moment?

Kostinbrod Regional Depot is a good example of a public-private partnership in Bulgaria. It is owned by the municipality of Kostinbrod and Belgian investors. Their joint-stock company Kostinbrod eco AD was established in 2009 and has been operating for 8 years now. The company successfully has built a first stage of a modern regional landfill, operates it environmentally and mostly generates funds to finance the construction of a second waste disposal cell that is ready now and it is about to start operating. Interview continues here.

The Branch Association Polymers (BAP) is a partner of SEE Save the Planet since 2010. The organizer keeps on its well-established partnership relations with BAP in connection with the 9th forthcoming edition of the event in 2018.
