NEWS FOR CAT LOVERS
Hi everyone! I just created my first mobile app!
It's called Moving With Pets. The caveat is that
it's only available in the Android format. Not to
mention, it's my first attempt at a mobile app, so
it's certainly not fancy.
But if you want to see it on your computer, rather
than your phone, you can go to the website and read it.
Once there, you can either just read it, or you
can actually download it to your phone if you want to.
If you do, let me know how it worked out. I don't have
a fancy cell phone, so I can't test it.
Shelter Dogs Help Cheetahs Survive
“It is all about comforting and reassuring the cheetah,”
said an animal training supervisor at the San Diego Zoo
Safari Park — the top U.S. breeder of cheetahs in captivity.
Tony the Tiger's fate is still hanging in the balance.
A Louisiana appellate court will hear arguments on whether
a live tiger may be kept at a truck stop. Tony has been
there for 11 years already. How tragic.
My next book: Would you like to write a story about a cat,
perhaps YOUR cat, in my next book? Here's your official invitation
to see your story published:
Feel free to share this with your friends! All cat-loving
CAT FOOD NEWS
Petfood recall: Nature's Variety Instinct Raw Organic
Petfood maker Nature’s Variety is voluntarily recalling
one batch of Instinct Raw Organic Chicken Formula
patties and medallions because the products may contain
pieces of clear plastic that could potentially cause pets
to choke. This product is marked with a "Best if Used By"
date of October 4, 2013.
(Side note: I just read today that Kellogg's Special K
breakfast cereal has been recalled for a similar reason:
possible glass fragments in the berries!)
If you want to keep up with current recalls, you can
check here, though they don't list all the brands:
Help Feed Shelter Animals
As always, don't forget to visit these sites as often as
you can and click on the shelter-feed links. There is no
cost to you to do this.
http://www.freekibblekat.com/ (Answer a trivia question...
even a wrong answer gives a donation.)
WEB SITES TO EXPLORE
Now here's a great idea! This website is open to anyone
who wants to buy OR SELL pet products. So, if you make
or sell things for pets, you can set up a sales page here!
Or shop through other people's pages. Cool, huh?
It's a new site, so there isn't a lot there yet. But as
more people get involved, it will be a great place to
get (and sell) stuff!

TAKE ACTION TO HELP ANIMALS IN NEED
How to help the animals:
Help feed the ones that never got adopted.
2. Always remember to check with your local shelter
to see what they need. Your donation will go directly
to the animals, in sharp contrast to some of the large
national groups, whose donation income goes toward
large administrative salaries and other expenses, not
necessarily for animals.
3. Buy my book if you haven't yet. Sales are used to
help support all the cats here. Thank you.
4. Kittens’ Eyes Sewn Shut to Research Treatment for
Humans (Not sure what we can do about this. I didn't
see a petition to sign.)
Watch for your next issue of The Kitty Times in 2 weeks!
