BUMPER NEW YEAR ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT

We announced our 2018 Dance acts last week and this week another 37
top-line performers are joining this year's Festival Program.
SON - Susan O'Neill (Ireland) with her amazing vocal range, superb guitar technique, loop pedals and trumpet will make for a truly unforgettable musical experience. NFF is also delighted to welcome back Andy Irvine (Ireland) one of the towering talents on the international folk scene. For the National Andy teams up with multi-instrumentalist Luke Plumb.
Indigenous artists feature prominently in this announcement including legendary singer/songwriter and pioneer of contemporary Aboriginal music, Joe Geia, North East Arnhem Land artist, Dhapanbal Yunupingu who will launch her stunning debut EP at the Festival and multi-award-winning WA songman, John Bennett, the ‘voice of the Kimberley’.

With our Package of Days (4 flexible day tickets) you and family or friends can join us at the National for as little as $87.75 per day (adult package of days single ticket) or be there for the whole Festival for $323.00 (5 day adult season ticket). Season camping and day tickets are also available at the discounted Early Bird 3 rate.  Further discounts apply if you hold one of our recognised concession cards.

Three New Master Classes Just Announced for 2018

The National Folk Festival is offering a number of exciting pre-Festival Master Classes in 2018. Three NEW classes are now being offered.
Fintan Vallely – Irish flute
Tiarnan O Duinnchinn – Irish whistle and uilleann pipes
Liz Doherty – Irish Fiddle
Also being offered: Paul Sartin (Singing), Benji Kirkpatrick (Guitar / Bouzouki), Saul Rose (Melodion), Paul Hutchinson (Piano Accordion) and Andy Rigby (Harp). 
Bookings are NOW OPEN and classes are starting to fill.

LAST CHANCE TO PRE-ORDER YOUR 2018 NFF T-SHIRT
Our 2018 t-shirts feature two of Paul Summerfield's fantastic designs in both a male and female tee. Festival attendees have the opportunity to pre-order their 2018 Festival t-shirt online prior to the event.  As always we will have both designs in all sizes available for purchase at the Festival shop until sold out.
 
By ordering in advance you have the opportunity to ensure you don’t miss out on your preferred design and size.
 
Pre-order for t-shirts is available online until 31 January 2018. All t-shirts must be picked up from the Festival shop during the Festival (Easter) between 10am and 2pm daily. T-Shirts will not be posted prior to the Festival.

2018 BORDERLAND BUSKING COMP
 
Our successful Borderland Busking Comp is back for 2018 with a brand new on-line format to give more acts an opportunity to participate.
 
Designed specifically to give emerging artists an opportunity to put themselves directly in front of our Artistic Team it provides a key stepping stone for a future Festival gig and for general career development!
 
The competition is open to entrants aged 18-29, there is no restriction on genre and there is no location restriction (entrants need to be available for the Final if successful). Entries must be received by 5pm Friday 16 February 2018.

PROGRAM ADVERTISING
The National Folk Festival produces 9,000 souvenir programs for the event. This high quality A4, 78 page, full colour publication is the Festival's main source of information and is widely used by all Festival attendees.  
 
Bookings for advertising space in the 2018 program are available until  
31 January 2018.  Final artwork is also due at this time.
