Swan Easter Egg
Happy Easter from Swan Digital

Dear

First and foremost may I wish you a very Happy Easter. I imagine you're looking forward to the weekend! You may be thinking of going out and about and spending some of your hard-earned cash. Well there's a small but significant change if you use Google Wallet.

Google Wallet changes

Those of us who like to pay at a card reader with Google wallet are used to being able to tap our phone on the reader in the same way as tapping our card for small transactions.

However Google  are introducing a change. Shortly you will have to unlock your phone using your PIN, Fingerprint or Facial recognition before presenting it. This is already a requirement on iPhones.

Google say: “Coming soon, your credit and debit card won’t be charged for retail payments unless you’ve recently used a verification method, like your fingerprint or PIN. Some users may already need to verify to make a payment. If you’re asked to verify it’s you, complete verification steps on your device to make a payment.”.

Another change

If you use Gmail for things like cinema tickets and boarding passes that have been emailed to your account from some sources will now automatically be added to your Google Wallet.

Google say: "Movie tickets and boarding passes from Gmail are now surfaced in the Google Wallet when a user buys a ticket and gets a confirmation email in their Gmail. This integration is live for some global movie chains and airlines and we are working to expand this."

Thank you for reading my Monthly Tips and Alerts. I really appreciate your interest and hope Swan Digital may serve you in future.

Have you switched yet?

Most businesses have already switched their phone systems over to VoIP (Voice over IP) but there are some who have yet to do so.

This is now a priority

BT and the other providers are scheduled to switch off the current analogue (PSTN and ISDN) telephone networks next year in favour of VoIP and you don't want to get caught up in the last minute rush.

This is actually good news as VoIP systems offer great benefits for business.

  • All UK calls to landlines and mobiles are free
Saving you worrying about call costs.

  • No need to change your numbers.
Existing contacts won't need to be informed of a number change as nearly all existing numbers can be ported to the new system.

  • Easily work remotely
If you wish to work from home you can easily divert your calls to another number or receive calls on your mobile using an app.

  • Your personal and valued contacts can contact you easily
using your own direct dial number.

  • Make it easier for your customers to contact the right person.
If you wish we can set up a "Call Attendant". Press 1 for Sales, 2 for Support, 3 for Accounts etc. which can divert the call straight to the best person or department.

  • Know who's calling before you answer.
Just like your mobile phone you can set a list of contacts which tells you who they are before you answer. Some systems will integrate with Office 365 or other programs on your computer.

  • Your contacts can leave you a message.
If you don't answer your caller can leave you an individual message on your personal voicemail which can be emailed to you if you wish.

  • Keep your contacts happy while they wait.
You can set a "message on hold" or music to promote your business or keep contacts relaxed while they wait on hold
    - as long as it's not too long . . . !

  • Keep a record of important conversations.
You can record a call from the beginning even when partway through to help with details of the conversation.

  • Get support direct from Swan Digital.
Perhaps best of all rather than spend ages waiting to speak to a helpdesk you can call on Swan Digital for prompt help for any system supported by us saving you time and stress.

  • That's not all. . .
There are many other advantages to a VoIP system. Simply give us a call on 01903 712727 to discuss your requirements and get a quote.
