You can vote for the Public Choice Award from among this year's winners of the EU Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards until 31 May 2015. There are 28 projects from 15 countries in competition. Choose your favourite now. Spread the word – through social media and your network of contacts – and earn support for the project(s) from your own or another European country. European Heritage Awards Day

The Ceremony, hosted by Commissioner Navracsics and Maestro Domingo, will be held on 11 June at Oslo City Hall, preceded by the Excellence Fair. Read more


Cultural Heritage Counts for Europe Day

The results of the CHCFE project will be presented on 12 June at Oslo University. A networking cruise on-board the historic sailing ship Christian Radich will close the day. Read more


Workshop for young crafters from Europe

Young people from 21 countries will attend a workshop on Norwegian wood craftsmanship and masonry, run by Fortidsminneforeningen with Europa Nostra, from 7-14 June. Read more

Participants will engage in a series of meetings, events and visits. The Congress is a core of our EU-funded network project 'Mainstreaming Heritage'. Read more


Awards scheme 2016:
call for entries

The European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards is Europe's highest honour in the heritage field. The awards are given to the most outstanding achievements in conservation; research and digitization; dedicated service; and education, training and awareness-raising. Take your place among the best! The 7 Most Endangered 2016: call for nominations

If you know of important heritage, that is endangered such as a historic monument or archaeological site, a place of worship, an industrial complex, a historic park, a museum or a movable heritage asset, nominate it for The 7 Most Endangered 2016. Europa Nostra runs this programme in partnership with the European Investment Bank Institute. See how you can nominate a site here and get involved. The deadline for nominations is

'Capacity Building Days' held in Brussels

With the aim to strengthen the capacity of its Member Organisations, Europa Nostra organised an intense three-day programme in Brussels on 15-17 April 2015. Chief Executive Officers of heritage NGOs from 13 European countries - Albania, Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, Serbia, Spain and the United Kingdom - participated in the first edition of the Capacity Building Days. 'ENtopia: Our Places in Europe' website launched

A website dedicated to Europa Nostra's new programme 'ENtopia: Our Places in Europe' was launched in Athens on 28 April 2015. For nearly two years, Elliniki Etairia has spearheaded the creation of this online platform, in close collaboration with the programme's director, Philip Gheoghegan from Ireland. The website launch is a decisive step in promoting the ENtopia programme. Read more


Europa Nostra joins UNESCO's #Unite4Heritage campaign

On 28 March 2015, at the University of Baghdad in Iraq, UNESCO launched the online campaign #Unite4Heritage to build support for the protection of heritage where it is threatened by violence and destruction. Europa Nostra fully endorses this initiative and calls on its members, associates and supporters to take active part in this campaign. Read more
