It's that time again!! Time for the Heartland Yarn Adventure!! Grab your knitting buddies (or any willing companion) and set out on a yarn-themed trip visiting other area yarn shops! Even if you can only make it to ReBelle, the prizes, discounts, and stitch markers are well worth the $5 passport fee!
If you aren't in the mood for a road trip, we have plenty to do at ReBelle! We have a JUL Design trunk show starting tomorrow evening with a live Zoom and going through the end of the crawl. Then, on Saturday, Conley of Maps Yarns will be joining us with a pop up of her wonderful yarns going through the weekend.
Passports are $5 and you can buy them on our website or in the shop all the way up to the crawl (or until we run out.)
To sweeten the deal, this year's passport comes with a collectable stitch marker and each shop will have a unique stitch marker for you to collect. As a bonus for our customers, we are including heart shaped clips to store your stitch markers and attach them to your favorite project bag which will come free with your passport.

We have a few route ideas sure to meet you travel needs. There are a few options within an hour of us for those looking for a quick trip.

For those of you looking for a daytrip adventure, heading west to the Louisville area or north to the Cincinnati area are both excellent choices. Any route you pick, you are sure to have a great time!!

As part of the Heartland Yarn Adventure, we are excited to be hosting a trunk show of handmade knitwear jewelry, buttons, and accessories by JUL Designs. Laura Bellows, the creative force behind JUL, creates innovative closures sure to elevate your handmade garments and accessories. We will have a wide variety of her creations in the shop, perfect for instant styling!!
In addition to the trunk show, Laura will be joining us the evening before the trunk show live via zoom to do styling demonstrations with her pins, buttons, and other accessories.

For the first weekend of the Heartland Yarn Adventure, Maps Yarn will once again be taking over the classroom of ReBelle with a selection of yarns, patterns, and other goodies.
Conley is a local dyer here in Lexington, Ky. She started Maps Yarn when she discovered the joy of small batch dyeing in her backyard and never looked back. She is an avid knitter and a blooming knitwear designer, her first design, the Dandelion Halter Bralette, was published in 2024 and she has since published 12 more designs that all work well with her yarns.
The yarns will be set up all weekend and Conley will join us in person from 11am-3pm on Saturday for a Meet the Maker. You can ask her questions, get her project advice, and even place custom orders if she doesn’t have exactly what you are looking for. Come discover your next favorite skein!

Helix Knitting
Helix knitting is a way of knitting in the round that creates one row stripes of many colors with minimal ends to work in, and smooth stripes with no jog. It’s the perfect way to use up small quantities of yarn to knit a cohesive, striped whole. It can be used on hats, on sweaters, on socks, anything that is knitted in the round. If you’re comfortable with knitting in the round and you have leftover yarns from other projects, helix knitting is for you.
Bring several leftovers of worsted weight yarns (I’ll have extras, too), and 16” circular needles in the size you like for worsted weight, and before the class is over, you’ll be well on your way to knitting your first helix hat.

Intro to Mitered Squares
Mitered square blankets have been around for years, but recently they made a huge resurgence in the knitting community via the Cozy Memories Blanket (or any one of the dozens of variations) where you use your yarn scraps to make a blanket over the course of several years. In this class, Susan will teach you the basic mitered square technique as well as a few variations. You will also learn how to pick up stitches to join squares without seaming. If you can knit garter stitch, you can do this!!

Round Robin, Knitting in the Round
Are you a new knitter curious about knitting in the round? Are you looking for a method of knitting in the round that better fits you? In this class, you will get the chance to knit in the round on 16” circular needles, 9” circular needles, 40” circular needles using the Magic Loop method, double pointed needles, and Addi FlexiFlips. Try them all, and find out which method is right for you.
The class will provide yarn and needles for you to play with knitting in the round, all you need are basic knitting skills.

How the Other Half Knits
Are you an English or Continental knitter? Ever wonder how the other half knits? The yarn is always greener on the other side so bring yarn and needles that you are comfortable with, and Susan will teach you a new way to knit. We’ll discuss different knitting traditions and their pros and cons of each.

Monthly Project Help Sessions
Whether you are stuck in the middle of a pattern and want some guidance, need some finishing help, or just need a bit of motivation, join Susan for her Project Help Sessions and get those outstanding projects done. No matter which fiber art you enjoy- knitting, crochet, weaving, felting, Susan can get you and your project back on track. Sessions will take place on the first Wednesday of most months and each group session is $20 for two hours and space is limited so register early.

Basic Granny Squares
Come learn to crochet 3 different styles of granny squares with Raellyn. Beginners are welcomed, but basic crochet skills are required.
For this class, you will need small amounts of worsted weight yarn in two or three colors and a US I9 / 5.5mm crochet hook.

Square Puff Trivet
Want a quick project that’s both pretty and practical? This puff stitch trivet has a lovely texture that can fit any decor and can be made in an afternoon.
Basic crochet skills are required for this class. We will learn how to start with a magic ring, work in the round and create the puff stitch. This trivet uses about 100 yards of worsted weight cotton yarn and a US H8/5mm crochet hook.

Simply Daisy Bookmark
This lovely bookmark is a great way to mark your page in the latest summer read, and is a great project for book lovers and novice crocheters looking to use up their scrap yarn.
Basic crochet skills are required for this class. We will learn the star stitch, also known as the Marguerite, or daisy stitch, and how to make a simple tassel to adorn it. The bookmark uses about 20 yards of cotton worsted weight yarn, and is a quick make on a US G6/4.0mm hook.

Afterthought Pockets and Heels
Afterthought pockets and heels are knit by first cutting (!!!) a piece of knitting and then picking up the stitches to add a pocket or a heel. Although cutting one’s knitting is intimidating, Susan will show you how to do this safely and without fuss. This technique can be used to add pockets to sweaters or heels to socks and Christmas stockings. It’s scary at first, but you might find it is your new favorite way to add these details to your knitting. but you can do it!
You will need to bring worsted weight yarn and corresponding double pointed needles to class. We’ll provide the scissors!

Intro To Nalbinding
Before knitting needles were used to make basic necessities like socks and mittens, there was nalbinding (Danish and Norwegian for ‘needle binding’.) Nalbinding uses lengths of wool yarn and a tapestry needle to create a fabric that dates back to 6500 BCE. During this class, you’ll learn the basics of nalbinding and the Oslo stitch and get a peak back at the History of this fascinating needle technique. Expand your fiber horizons, and learn something new! This is a beginning class, no previous textile experience is needed and we will provide the wool yarn and the tapestry needles.

Mending Your Handknits
Learn to repair your precious hand knit clothing This technique class will teach you Swiss darning, woven repairs, knitted repairs, and demonstrate the use of the Katrinkles Darning Loom. Bring an item that needs to be repaired (and matching yarn if you have it), and a darning needle. (Or bring a stockinette stitch piece at least 4” square)
