The United States is at war.

Again.

I know the United States is always at war -
if war is military action against another country or people,
but sometimes it's so obvious
even the Press has to comment on it.

But of all of this country’s wars of imperialism or corporatism or misguided ideology this particular war
is by far the stupidest.

Because this war is about ego.

Yes, it’s also about stock market manipulation,
and an ill-conceived, one-dimensional checkers attempt
to impact China,

but mainly it’s yet another stab at
inserting himself into meaningful history by our
Manbaby Idiot-In-Chief.

Not by having admirable achievements, no-
but by simply doing something, anything, and declaring that action or decision - regardless of the outcome - as a victory.

And not just a normal victory.

Each action or decision is the most amazingest,
most stupendicus,
people-are-calling-it-the-biggiest,
most

thing that has ever happened!

But that over 70 million people fell for the backed-up toilet explosion that was and is every time Donald Trump opens his mouth was never about the political spell woven by a master orator or manipulator who has his elbow on the pulse of
The People.

It was always about the people themselves, and what they were willing to overlook. In desperate times frightened people want definitive answers, but also they want those answers to concur with the fears and prejudices they already have. They don’t want challenging solutions, they want validating solutions.

And that search for validation allows them to be fooled.

Speaking of which:

~ Anyway ~

In these times, the Age of Cruel Stupidity, it is important to remember that all people aren’t terrible. Some people are their best selves when things are worst, and anyone who disagrees is not someone I want around during an emergency.

I recently read an article by someone who argued that now is not the time for feeling any positivity regarding humanity.

I hate that shit.

Sometimes people mistake fatalism for revolutionary realism, but it’s actually just the easiest, laziest choice.

The let-it-all-burn-down people who don’t understand what a selfish, privileged position that is.

So in the spirit of those people who,
when times are tough,
are their best,
kindest selves we have
the show Michael is currently in:

"What's not to love about a story like this, that can make you laugh a lot and cry a little and renew your faith in the goodness that exists in the world?"
 SF Gate

"The heart is bound to reign forth in a magical, moving production not to be missed. With a rousing, contagious score that continually emphasizes a steady beat much like that of a heart, Come from Away is an emotional testament and tribute to the citizens of a tiny, remote town who welcomed strangers into their midst at a time the entire world was at a standstill in shock and sorrow."
Talkin’ Broadway

"I didn’t expect to be on the edge of my seat as the stories unfolded from “the edge of the world.” The show captures the human wariness of strangers, and our equally powerful ability to override that conditioning with compassion."

"As for me, I am also different person, now, than I was before I saw this show. “Come From Away” beautifully reminds us all that even in the most uncertain times, kindness is a choice we can all make."
