Come Get A Lot of Signatures and See What a Difference YOU Make!

Weiland’s Market, a wonderful location!   We have permission to gather signatures outside of Weiland’s Market, 3600 Indianola, where lots of customers will be ready to sign.  Out of respect for the owner and customers, we need to not block entering and exiting from the store, but we have done well there last year.  Sign up at Weiland's Market; we need 2 people there every shift.
CrestFest this Saturday!  A fun community event in its 10th year, where over 2000 people attend!  This is a great opportunity, from noon to 9 pm; it takes places on Crestview Rd and E. Tulane Rd between Calumet St and East Ave.  Sign up at CrestFest; we could use 3 people there all the time.

KPC News.com -
Citizens, county governments rallying forces to protect Michindoh
[Excerpt:]
A private company, Artesian of Pioneer, has applied with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to tap into the aquifer to serve communities in the Toledo area, potentially taking 15 million gallons a day.

[Excerpt:]
With all of the discussion and legislation focused on energy and national security, many don't realize the output of the ASH would be the production of petroleum-based products: mainly plastic, but also fertlizers, paints, resins, and other chemical products.

Not coincidentally, Republican Ohio State Representatives George Lang and Don Jones just introduced House Bill 242, and attempt to support the plastic industry by "prohibit[ing] the imposition of a tax or fee on [auxiliary or plastic] containers, and apply existing anti-littering law to those containers."

IEA cedes ground on the failure of gas as ....

....a bridge fuel.  Then bends over backwards to
push for more gas use.
[Excerpt:]
These two areas of the report, showing the impotence of gas in reducing emissions, and the crumbling economic case for new gas-fired power generation, reiterate the main theme in our burning the gas bridge fuel myth report.  That is that contrary to claims of industry and many in government, gas is not clean, cheap or necessary.
