The Life Drawing Gymnasia is a model run collective of professional artist models seeking to collaborate with artists, changing and challenging the role of the muse in the artistic process.
The ethos of the project 'Gymnasia' is inspired by the Ancient Greek principle 'to exercise nude', the body and mind in harmony, incorporating dance, yoga, physical theatre, and classical themes. The Life Drawing Gymnasia was founded in 2016 by Andrew Crayford.
Inspired by dance, yoga and movement they project visually spectacular, physically demanding interactive compositions. Their unique style of intimate, yet powerful performance modelling is a breath taking spectacle of highly charged drama, an opportunity for artists of all levels to be inspired by the expression of the pure physical form. A life drawing event like no other!

The event will be preceded from 5pm by Kan Muftic signing copies of his book, Figure Drawing For Concept Artists

Andrew Crayford the founder of the project is a London based model, musician, photographer and actor.

His diverse talents have led to success in TV, film, fashion, and the art industry, which has seen him labelled as a '21st Century Renaissance man'.

His credits include 'The Legend Of Tarzan', and various collaborations with The British Museum and BBC. His classical physiology is greatly admired and professionalism widely respected by some of the most esteemed artists in the world.

The Life Drawing Gymnasia will take place in Candid Skylab.
Candid Arts Trust, 4th Floor, 5 Torrens Street, EC1V 1NQ London
