Chantelle Wilson came along with me when I brought my baby to her very first The Bad Plus concert during this year's jazz festival.  Here we are with The Bad Plus pianist, Ethan Iverson.  Check out their new album - Never Stop.

Happy Belated Canada Day and July 4th!

It's been a beautiful start to the summer - great music at the jazz festival and gorgeous weather by the pool.  Now that festival season is in full swing, I hope you all have had a chance to enjoy one of our country's music festivals.

I got out to see The Bad Plus at the Enwave Theatre for the Toronto Jazz Fest last week.  They were amazing!
Ross MacIntyre and I had two great gigs at the festival's Distillery stage.  We met tons of lovely folks who made up such an attentive audience. It was, what I like to call, serious fun!  At eight plus months pregnant I wasn't sure how I would handle a three hour gig but all the energy from the audience made it easy.  So a big thank you to you!

I have one more gig tomorrow night before focusing my time on motherhood.  Thanks again for all of your kind and supportive wishes over the past while.  I'll be sure to let everyone know about our little one when she makes her big arrival!

Summer Jazz Series with the Trio

This is very last minute notice, but tomorrow night at 7:30 I'll be making my fourth appearance at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts Summer Jazz Series in the Plaza.  Michael Shand will be on the keys and Ross MacIntyre will be on the bass.  I will be singing and playing a bit of ukulele. (I can just fit the uke on my big belly!)

The Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts is located on Yonge Street north of Major MacKenzie Drive. Their entire series is free and you can enjoy a cool beverage out on the plaza under the summer sky.

Due to my upcoming 'due date', Ross and I have decided to delay the official release of our album How Sweet It Is until the fall.  We are looking forward to celebrating and sharing the album with you in October. So please, stay tuned!
