The Bills take on the Chargers on Sunday with a 4:15 pm kickoff. There will be no local TV coverage of the Bills this week, so come on down to the Harp!
As promised, here's an update on our Charity Day event that will take place at the Harp on Sunday.
In recognition of the number of large-scale disasters that have taken place this year (and no, that doesn't include the Bills O-Line), we will be raising money for the American Red Cross this year.
For those of you that are new to our group, we've been staging this event once a year since 1996, raising money for a variety of Boston and Buffalo-area charities. We raffle off lots of great prizes, donated by the Bills and the Harp (not to mention your membership dues) and donate the proceeds to charity. Last year we raised $1,300 for Cheers for Children. You can see a recap of our efforts over the years by clicking on the "Thank You Backers" link on our website.
We have a great list of prizes on tap, including an autographed mini-helmet and a bunch of Bills shirts and other officially licensed merchandise. The Harp and the various beer distributors have also donated a ton of prizes, including a Labatt Blue vending machine, a Bass Golf Bag and windbreakers, and a mini Bass refrigerator.
Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. The drawing will commence at the end of the game.
Also, by popular demand, we're bringing back the Charity Day Food Drive. Please bring some non-perishable food items to the Harp on Sunday and place them in the collection box near the front door. We'll be donating all the items collected to the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry, a volunteer organization that provides food items to area residents in need, regardless of religious affiliation.
Some other important notes for Sunday:
- We have a rather large stack of membership cards waiting to be picked up. We'll have a table set up with all the cards so if you're a new member, please stop by to pick yours up.
- We'll have t-shirts available for sale on Sunday. We also have a small number of Bills Backers of Boston pint glasses for sale. Hint: this stuff makes great Christmas presents!
See you all on Sunday... Go Bills!
