Verna has a huge collection of iris in her display gardens but it was too hot last summer for her to dig and pot any. They are comming into full bloom now. If you are interested in adding some iris to your gardens, take time to come out and look through her collection during the next week or two. If you come out when the parking lot is not full, she will dig what you want on the spot for $8.00 each. Below are pictures of iris plants.
Amasonia, tabernaemontana "Blue Ice" is in full bloom in the green house and in the display gardens. We grow it in full sunbut it is labeled as a sun to part shade plant so here in Central Oklahoma it might actually be a plant that could grow on the perimeter of your shade garden or in full sun. It only get about 12 to 15 inches tall and has a dark blue flower. Below is a picture of it. Find it in number two green house.
Our ferns are looking good now. We have a number of them to chose from. Find them in the number four house with the ferns. Below is a sample of fern oictures.
If you do not now grow Bletilla, or hardy orchids in your shade gardens, you should come out and see how well they are growing and blooming in our display gardens. We have them in several colors. Bletillas grow to about 15 to 18 inches and bloom for several weeks. To see a clum in bloom is spectular! Find them in green house no. 5. Below is what they look like in bloom.
Special! We still have 5 different varieties of dianthus planted in 4 1/2" sq. squat pots. Your choice $4.95 each or buy 10 or more, mix and match for $3.95 each. That is almost 50% off from last year. We have sold hundreds of these already but we still have a large inventory for you to select from. They are extremely heat and drought tolerant. And they are evergreen and will bloom in cycles from now until a hard freeze this fall. Each year the clump just gets bigger and prettier. The flowers are also very fragrant and make excellent cut flowers. Below are pictures of some of our dianthus.
Peonies...our peonies are all up and growing in green house number 2. They have been walking out of the green house this week but we still have around 15 varieties potted included reds, pinks, white, yellow, single flowers, bomb types, and Japanese types. Below are some pictures of some of the peony plants we have potted. Everything is blooming about two weeks early and our Peony Festival will most likely fall around the 3rd or 4th Saturday in April. We will let you know later.
We do have about 10 peony "Bartzella" left in two gallon pots. . This is one of the new intersectional peonies. It has foliage and flower colors like the tree peony but growth habits like the herbacious peonies that most of us grow. It will eventually grow to about 36 inches and have dozens of flowers each year and die to the ground each fall. We have been growing them for the second spring in our peony growin area. Bartzella is the yellow flower below. The flowers will be 6 to 8 inches accross.
We still have pleanty of the $4.95 and $5.95 helleborus plants available if you need them. Helleborus has become one of our many speciality plants that we try to keep on hand the year around.
We have several types of Salvia comming into bloom. These will bloom in cycles all summer long and they thrive in hot dry conditions once established. Below are several varieties we have on hand.

We now have three varieties of Yarrow or Achillea for sale. These are extremely drought and heat tolerent plants and bloom in our display gardens from late spring untill late fall. Below are pictures of what we have available.
