On April 24-30, Fashion Revolution Week will be marked on social media and through events in more than 80 countries around the globe. Consumers and brands alike will come together in memory of the 1,129 garment workers who lost their lives in the Rana Plaza disaster in Bangladesh, using this opportunity to call for greater transparency and ethics in the fashion industry.
Our region is home to four of the world’s biggest ready-made garment producers: Bangladesh, India, Cambodia and China. With the world’s attention turned to Asia this Fashion Revolution Week – and with World Fair Trade Day 2017 right on our doorstep – it has never been more important to highlight the work of the WFTO Asia Members who are Agents for Change in the garment and accessories sector.
This month we are focusing on Fair Trade as a solution to the fashion industry’s problems.
