Peony Festivial !!

Our physical location is 1/2 mile west of the Kilpatrick turnpike on Wilshire or 2 1/2 miles East of HY4

We want to ask all of our customers to forward our bulletins to all your gardening friends. If you are reading this bulletin on face book, forward it to your gardening friends.

I have never had our Peony Festivial This early but this spring has been so warm that most of our peonies have started blooming in our growing gardens and I alwayus try to have the festivial while our peonies are blooming. It will be at least a two week event just in case the first week end is rained out. It will start tomorrow and run at least through through Sunday april 25th

1. Any one is encouraged to attend. You are encouraged to look through our peony gardens. Walk around the gardens, not through them. Do Not Pick the flowers!

2. Anyone making a purchase of $30 or more will get a raffle ticket for a $100 gift certificate. Be sure the person helping you gives you a ticket.

3. Anyone making a purchase of $30 or more will also get a free plant depending on the size of the purchase. Please ask the person helping you to give you your free plant.

We have moved a couple hundred two gallon containers into green house no. two, and put the images and prices on them. They are ready for you to look them over. There are around 20 varieties to chose from.

Plant peonies in the full sun in any garden soil. If you have any, add some compost under the plant. The eyes of the peony should be about one inch under the surface of the ground,

We have three colors of Baptisia. Like peonies and red yucca, they are very drought tolerant plants. The roots go straight down. After a year or two, you will never have to water them again. They grow in full sun. Find these plants in green house number two.

We have Red yucca Blooming Now!!

We have a very good number of two gsllon red yucca blooming in front of green house number three. The larger the clump gets, the longer it will bloom until you have blooms fromm April through October.

We grow several varieties of this plant. They bloom in cycles all summer long. they are perennials and normally live for years. Find these plants in green house number two:

Most of our hostas have come up. They are shade loving plants. We have thousands of hostas to chose from. Find them in green house no. two.

chinese snowball viburnum

This is a shrub that is actually spectacular when in full bloom. We have one in our front yard that must have over 100 blooms on it. I think we have moved them to green house no. one until we get no. 5 rebuilt.

We are carrying these for the first time in several years. They are beautiful but need filtered sun or afternoon shade for best results. Find this item in green house no. 2 and 3 house.

We grow several varieties of garden phlox. We have tested most of them in our display gardens and they have all come back several years in our gardens. They all grow in full sun and they all attract butterflies. Find them in green house number two on the north wall.

This is a desert plant that will bloom in cycles all summer long. It grows in full sun and only gets around 12 inches tall and then it spreads out. Makes a great border plan or a stand alone plant. We grow two colors, pink and purple. Find them on the south wall of green house number two.

This is a great time to plant the Desert Willows and Chitalba trees we have in green house number three. Both of these trees will flower for months during the summer. We have three colors of desert willow trees to chose from. find these plants in green house number three. I will try to put more pictures in my bulletin next week. I have just wore myself out getting all the plastic picked up and removing all the plastic and metal pipe from gh no, 5 that collapsed

We want to remind everyone to bring any unwanted containers to the nursery any time you are out this way. Set them off at the parking sign and we will move them. We recycle them over and over and it helps hold our prices down.

We have been cutting grass sod for over a month now. We cut it fresh, right after you come out and pay for it. So if you need a few rolls or a few thousand square feet, we cut Friday and Sat. between 8:30 and 1 om, We might can cut other days if you call in advance. Our sod cost much less than you will pay for at a box store.
