Script Call
From our 2009 Script Call four scripts were chosen – all debuting in Manchester with great reviews some of the scripts went on to be performed as part of the Buxton Fringe Festival, Preston Tringe Festival, Write Now Festival, and New Wimbledon Studio Theatre. We chose two scripts from our 2010 call which were produced in 2011. Both debuting in Manchester and going to further venues in Buxton and Salford. We also produced the debut of All Because Of Molly – one of the 2010 24:7 Theatre Festivals rehearsed readings - debuting in Manchester at The Lowry and going on to Square Chapel, Arts Pavilion Centre, The Lantern Theatre and The Continental.
Our 2011 script call was given Grants For The Arts funding from the Arts Council and the scripts - Bottled Wasps and After Words - debuted in Manchester before taking in the Buxton, Preston and Manchester fringe festivals, The Carrigeworks (Leeds), The Lantern Theatre, and The Square Chapel. AfterWords won the Buxton Fringe Festival award for New Writing.
Our 2012 script call has a North West tour taking in The Lowry, The Square Chapel, The Lantern Theatre, The Oldham Coliseum and The Pavilion Arts Centre and Buxton Fringe Festival this Spring/Summer.

We are now looking for two new scripts to work with in 2014 for a North West tour.
The call will close on the 30th April.

We are also looking for writers to take part in Spring Ignition, Chaotic Combinations and Perspectives - see below or more information.
Broken & A Lot Of It About - NW Tour
We start this year with a North West tour of two debut productions - Broken by Ned Hopkins and A Lot Of It About by Ella Carmen Greenhill. Starting at The Lowry we stop along the way at The Square Chapel in Halifax, The Oldham Colisuem in Oldham, The Lantern Theatre in Liverpool and The Pavilion Arts Centre in Buxton.
Broken:"Some people get sol lost, they don't find their way at all" May is desperately searching for something, Helen has everything she ever wanted and saw it all snatched away. As May searches for meaning for something to hold, she finds herself torn between two people and two agonising choices. A play looking at loss and identity.
A Lot Of It About: Ben's sex aversion therapy didn't work. Now on the verge of old age and trapped in a loveless marriage to Ann, he argues with his younger self and revisits key events in his life. A violent strugle with his alter ego finally brings things to a climax.
These two shows were selected from our 2012 script call.

Spring Ignition - Creative calls
An evening of an eclectic mix of five short new plays from some of the fantastic new and emerging talent in the North West.
The plays are:
Bow Wow Pow Wow
A heavily pregnant dog has been hit by a car and the staff at a local vet's must perform an emergent caesarean section. As tensions from their personal lives boil over into the operating theatre, can our team deliver the puppies without having kittens?
Sascha, a faded 60s pop starlet, has been offered a reality show by her agent. Her daughter, who has been groomed for stardom, couldn't think of anything worse. She'd rather have a mother, especially as she has been holding back on the news she is about to make her a grandaughter.
Spring has arrived and with it the time for making babies. Sarah had it all planned out, Brian may need some convincing, and Dave, the dog, remains firmly opposed.
Slouching Towards Bethlehem
Ten years ago a Faustian pact brough Lilith and Eve together. Now is the time for the debt to be called in. With minutes to go before her soul is lost forever, Eve wants it back. But how do you argue for your own soul?
They say youth is wasted on the young. Now you can relive your youth with 'Wellsrping', the exciting new product from AgeRight Pharmosolutions. Forget those aches and pains, and make the winter of your life an eternal spring.

Writing Workshop
We are pleased to announce our new writing workshop.
Due to ill health these will now be starting in the Autumn in both Manchester and Liverpool.
The first term of the course will cover writing practices and techniques and will result in actors reading the participants’ scripts in the final workshop. The second term will be geared towards developing a specific piece with each writer, leading towards a public showing of a rehearsed reading of the participants’ work at the end of the term. There will be some workshops in both terms that will have guest speakers, and prior to the rehearsed reading writers will be able to spend rehearsal time with actors and director in order to gain a better insight into the process of taking a script from the page to the stage.
We will announce further information closer to the time.
