Matthew 25:34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, "Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."

YOUR FAMILY INHERITANCE

Who usually receives an inheritance? Strangers? An enemy? No, in most cases an inheritance is something passed on by parents to their children (by birth or adoption).

The Scripture makes clear that only those who are God's children will inherit a place in God's heavenly kingdom. Praise God that He makes us His children through faith, as it is written (Galatians 3:26-27): "For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ."

Those who are family, born into God's kingdom by faith, stand to inherit His heavenly inheritance.

How does a son or daughter know that they will receive an inheritance? Often parents will tell their children what is to be left them. If not, they are named in the last will and testament as the beneficiaries of the estate.

How do we know that WE have been named as the beneficiaries of God's Grace?

God our Heavenly Father has told us -- yes, promised us as much in His Word. He has declared all who believe in His Son Jesus to be "not guilty" of their sins (John 3:16). Those who believe, who trust in Him who died and rose again, are righteous in God's eyes, beneficiaries of His grace.

Now since you trust in Christ, the inheritance is already yours, which Peter once described like this (1 Peter 1:4-5): ". . . an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

Today, as you do what you do to earn a living, remember that you are God's Children by grace through faith, and that you have in Christ a perfect inheritance awaiting you.
