FOLAU SHOULD APOLOGISE TO LGBTIQ COMMUNITY

Equality advocates say Israel Folau should apologise for the harm his comments have caused the LGBTIQ community.

The call was promoted by Folau reaching a settlement with Rugby Australia.

Just.equal spokesperson, Rodney Croome, said, despite Israel Folau reaching a settlement with Rugby Australia, there remains unfinished business.

“He should apologise to the LGBTI community for the harm he caused, he should say sorry to rugby community for the disruption he caused the sport, and he should refund the money raised for his defence in court.”

“The poisoned legacy of the Folau furore is a religious freedom bill no one wants and no one supports. The resolution of Israel Folau’s case is as good a time as any to ditch it.”
