Dear Neighbors,

As we officially enter summer 🌞here is the latest.

Play Tennis 🎾and Swim 🏊at Stevens Institute This Summer
Thanks to our good neighbors at Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken residents can access Stevens’ tennis courts for free (through August 27) and the swimming pool, for a fee (year-round).
Hoboken residents must register here, then the City will process an approval email to allow residents to register with Stevens. Registered residents will have access to four tennis 🎾courts on the northern end of the campus from 9 am to 8 pm seven days a week until August 27 or to Stevens’ swimming 🏊‍♀️pool in Schaefer Athletic Center Monday - Friday from 9 am to 8 pm, and Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm. Residents can purchase daily, weekly, or monthly swim memberships. More details, including discounted senior memberships, are available here
As your Councilman, I proudly supported the approval of the shared services agreement that made this partnership with Stevens possible.

The Weehawken Pool⛱️ is Open 🏊‍♀️To Hoboken Residents
The Weehawken Township pool complex also is open to Hoboken residents, with a full pool season schedule beginning today. The season rate for non-Weehawken residents is $200 for the first adult, $100 for the second adult, free for children, and there is a $25 non-resident fee.
Operating hours for the Weehawken pool complex are:
Monday through Friday:
6 am to 10 am: Lap pool only
8 am to 10 am: Swim Lessons
10 am to 6 pm: General Swim

Saturday and Sunday:
8 am to 10 am: Lap pool only
10 am to 6 pm: General swim
You can get more information here
I have discussed these issues with Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner and am pleased that Hoboken’s residents have this opportunity to enjoy this Hudson River waterfront pool complex this summer.

Check Out Our ResilienCity Park
If you haven’t stopped by ResilienCity Park, please take a walk or bike over to Hoboken’s newest park and athletic fields at 12th and Adams Streets. ResilienCity Park is a special place for you and your family to enjoy.
As you step foot into ResilienCity Park, you'll be greeted by a landscape filled with lush greenery, plantings, lawns, and gardens. One of the special features of ResilienCity Park is its large playground, including slides, a sandbox, swings, climbing structures, a splash park, and interactive play areas.
For those seeking tranquility and relaxation, ResilienCity Park offers serene walking paths and peaceful seating areas. Take a leisurely stroll along the winding paths, and find a cozy spot to sit on a lounge chair and unwind. It's a perfect place for a break from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
ResilienCity Park also includes beautiful new multi-purpose fields, exercise stations and equipment, and a full-court basketball court. Whether you're into jogging, yoga, or strength training, you'll find everything you need to stay active and healthy in its well-designed fitness zone.
Additionally, the park features spacious picnic areas where you can gather with friends and family for an outdoor meal. Spread out a blanket, enjoy a picnic basket filled with your favorite treats, and bask in the sunshine while creating lasting memories. Or head over to Uncle Milton’s Cafe, conveniently located at 1119 Jefferson Street, for refreshing drinks and homemade treats with your park visit.
So stop by with family and friends, or enjoy some alone time at ResilienCity Park. Experience the wonder of this special public space some have dubbed “Hoboken’s Central Park” in the heart of the Fifth Ward, a park that realizes our vision for this neighborhood.

Congratulations to Chris O’Connor
Last weekend, Mile Square Theatre, our incredible not-for-profit theater company, renamed its stage in honor of its founding Artistic Director, Chris O’Connor, who worked 19 years placing MST’s footprint on Hoboken’s map. Saturday night, during MST’s gala program celebrating Chris, I presented Chris with a City proclamation on the O’Connor Stage recognizing his extraordinary contributions to Hoboken’s cultural life and to MST.
🎭 Congratulations, Chris!  🎭

Coffee with Cohen … the home edition
On Tuesday, I hosted my 82nd Coffee with Cohen community event with special guest Laura Knittel Hoboken’s LGBTQIA+ Liaison. We discussed how our community came together for a Pride event at the Hoboken Public Library’s Banned Book “Read-a-Thon'' in support of our LGBTQIA+ community. We also discussed how Hoboken residents can help create a more inclusive and accepting environment for all our residents
Reading “Everywhere Babies” at the Library’s Banned Book “Read-a-Thon”
I also addressed important community updates, including paying tribute to lifelong Hoboken residents Chris and Vince Manente who sadly passed away this month, and more. Over 100 people have watched this event and you can check it out here
