CMM RETROFIT
Most CMM’s are structurally in very good condition, and as such they outlive their computer, controller or software. To extend CMM life and upgrade performance Manchester Metrology Ltd can offer a choice of retrofit equipment, software and supply appropriate training.
Using the latest range of Renishaw plc controllers that support the I++ interface standard allows users the flexibility of Metrology Software to be used.
Full Laser Error-Mapping to establish the CMM Geometry is used to provide the best accuracy possible in the environment where the CMM is located.
A retrofit makes Renishaw's high performance 5-axis measurement systems, REVO® and PH20™, accessible to users of all brands of CMM. Unlike conventional CMM measurement methods, 5-axis measurement technology uses the synchronised motion of CMM and head axes to minimise dynamic errors at ultra-high measuring speeds.
An ISO 17025 accredited REVO retrofit delivers up to 70% cycle time savings, non-contact inspection and surface finish analysis on a single CMM.
PH20 brings 5-axis measurement advantages to touch-trigger applications, typically offering a 3-fold improvement in throughput.

THE ALL NEW PH20 PROBE HEAD

Unlike conventional touch-trigger measurement methods which rely on speeding up the motion of the CMM's 3 axes to measure quickly, PH20 utilises the head motion technology developed for the multi-award winning REVO system to minimise the dynamic errors of the CMM at higher measurement speeds.
PH20's unique ‘head touches' allow measurement points to be taken by moving only the head, rather than the CMM structure. Points can be taken faster, and with improved accuracy and repeatability.
Furthermore, 5-axis motion eliminates time spent indexing the head. Together these speed increases typically resulting in a 3-fold improvement in throughput over conventional systems.

CMM CALIBRATION
A vital element of having a reliable CMM is regular maintenance with a Calibration Test to verify the accuracy the CMM performs to. Our industry-trained Support Engineers follow a set procedure for service preventative maintenance and follow industry standards for calibration as defined by ISO10360 and CMMA.
Full checks are completed prior to calibration to ensure the CMM is performing correctly with accuracy testing completed to establish if the current certified accuracy can be achieved. In the event of not achieving the accuracy then our engineers will liaise with the customer to understand why it is no longer as accurate (e.g. environmental changes). The customer can then accept new accuracy or have it adjusted to previous specification. Changes to the accuracy may affect production processes.

BREAKDOWN AND SUPPORT

As the majority of CMM’s are used within a production environment we provide Breakdown Cover and prioritise when a prompt response is required.

MACHINE BREAKDOWN

We can prepare the equipment for relocation, supervise the transport using our approved Lift/Shift Transport companies & recommission the equipment at the new location. The preparation for transport is critical to ensure no damage is done to the equipment and our engineers take care to secure it correctly.

REMOTE SUPPORT

Using the latest Microsoft Teams software we are able to communicate directly with Customers & Engineers in the field. This is used extensively now to deliver remote training in structured 2 hour block’s and also to take control of the system to help diagnose onsite issues. e.g. programming queries, configuration issues and service support.
