Our inbox seems to have been full of encouraging news over the last few weeks, with success stories coming in from all over the industry.
The Altus Group has marked the half-way point of the year by announcing a
record sales month for the company since its inception 17 years ago. You can read more on this story below.
Altus managing director, Richard Booth said:
“The level of investment we see shows that the UK electronics market is as competitive and vibrant as ever."
This positivity seems to have been reflected elsewhere, with Blakell Europlacer Distribution hosting a Technology Day for over 60 delegates representing a broad cross-section of the surface mount
community, from global EMS providers and Tier 2 & 3 contract
manufacturers to medium and large OEMs from sectors that included
automotive and aero engine manufacture.
Andy Jones expressed his delight with the great turnout, commenting: “We
enjoy hosting these events, having done so almost every year for the
past decade, and it’s encouraging to see that we continue to attract
good numbers of visitors from varied manufacturing backgrounds."
In other news, Anglia Components announced the next phase of their ambitious five
year plan to grow their share of the UK electronic component
distribution market to 10%, with a turnover of £100 million. The company
is actively recruiting as it continues to look to outgrow the market
and achieve this growth organically.
The WNIE team congratulates all these companies on their continuing success and trusts that the great work across our sector will go from strength to strength. We look forward to showcasing innovation and positivity at our WNIE Live event in September! Register here
