Hi friends,

Deborah and I just returned from five weeks of travel to some of the most beautiful places in the world.

We started out with a week at the Unicorn Camp in Southern England, immersed in the Dances of Universal Peace. It was a fantastic experience with our new friends who share this special path of the heart.
It’s made me look forward even more to our Dance weekend here in November. It’s a great way to visit The Farm. I hope you will consider joining us for this uplifting experience, coming at a time when we need a balance to the chaos and uncertainty.
Namaste y'all!

Unicorn Family Dance Camp
The Unicorn Camp runs from Saturday evening to Sunday morning. It’s held in a big open field where everyone camps.

The camp sites are organized into circles or pods who cook and eat together.
There’s roughly 200 to 250 people, so there are probably 10 or more pods.

The camp has eight big tents set up for dances, workshops, kid scenes and more. In particular, the “Big Top” holds over 200 people.
In the early morning, there are Sufi practices. A bit later there is four-part choir singing instruction called The Harmonic Temple. There’s a Dance Circle at 8:30 AM in one of the smaller tents (as many as 40 people). There’s another Dance circle in the Big Top from 11:30 AM to 1 PM, afternoon workshops, and a Dance Circle in the evening from 8:30 to 10:30 PM. If you try to do everything, it's a long day!

At 7 PM in the evening, there’s an hour of Sacred Circle dancing, with a band playing Celtic music, as dancers hold hands and do steps like the grapevine. Such beautiful and enchanting music!

There are kid's camps, teenage camps, and the kids seem pretty happy.

The Cafe'
Although most people cook for themselves, there’s a huge tent for a café that serves coffee, tea and baguettes in the morning and then lunch, plus desserts like carrot cake. You must bring your own plate and cup. They only took British pounds and so we changed some money when we did a town run.
The first night, the seven “teachers” (Dance Leaders are all called "teachers") for the week led one Dance to introduce them to the camp.
The rest of the Dance sessions are set up so that only one teacher leads all the dances in that time slot. It allows each Leader to fully express their vision for a Dance journey. I’m very grateful to have received a slot for Friday morning. It was the first time I’ve ever been referred to as a teacher. 😉
The camp is primarily organized by a core group. People have various roles (security, safety, registration). There is a “Camp Manager” who is also in charge of the Dance Leaders. He has been in the role for 15 years and just announced this is his last year.
All the Dance Leaders meet once a day. It is part check in to see how you’re doing, and part review of the last two dance circles, with leaders offering observations about their session and other leaders offering positive feedback.
There is also an hour each day for the DUP band to practice so they can learn the dances for the following evening and next morning. The band is great, so much talent. Really good players of flute, piccolo, clarinet, even a lyre, a Celtic harp.
It is refreshing and inspiring to experience these Dance Circles that have been going for decades, where children have grown and have returned with their children. We hope to go back!
