        Whether it's note holders, note brokers or note investors I've experienced it all over the years. If they screwed you the last time, they're probably going to try to do it again. Along with this goes the school of hard knocks lesson that it can be surprisingly easy to spot the clones of some personality types, and thereby have a pretty good idea of where they're coming from and how they might try to spin you.

          Look for the danger signs, like: "The last people I used for this just didn't understand me so here's all the copies of my documents and I need the cash right away and, oh by the way, I'm already working with another investor and whoever closes first gets to buy my note." (Now say it with me, in unison,) "Get this one done and I have other notes I need to sell." What I've learned, people rarely change and some you can know without even meeting. Remember, Success Demands Action! Keep on marketing, it’s going to work! TWITA!

          I’m new to the business and you know how you have nay-sayers and people in the family say the note business is a get rich quick scam. Have you ever dealt with negativity like this and how did you prove people wrong after you decided to take that leap of faith to change your life? How can someone like myself prove my critic’s wrong and how to use this as motivation?  Thanks and I love your book Every Single Profitable Note Marketing Idea the World (almost). A - Hi Damien!

          Thanks for the email! We all deal with this many times throughout our lives no matter what business we attempt or things we want to do. Some people can't handle other peoples success or happiness. They subconsciously want you to do as bad or worse than they are doing. I can write a book about this so let me keep this short. I've been doing this now since 1991, it is NOT a get rich quick scheme at all, it is a real business that works for some people and does not work for other people. If you know in your heart of hearts that this is what you want to do and nothing can stop you until you succeed then you should on your journey.

           You should try to distance yourself from the naysayers or if they are family living in the same home maybe you just don't tell them everything you are doing until you get your first check. Not to rub it in their face just to say "oh look at that I made some money at this, I think I'd like to make some more". And then say no more until you are getting more steady income as your business grows.

          Some people like the lifestyle of working for other people and they want everyone else to do the same. Others of us are not satisfied with that and we create our own path. We are not better than them and they are not worse than us just different. and sometimes those differences cause them to place their negativity onto other people in the form of criticism and ridicule.

          Use it as part of your motivation to prove them wrong with the knowledge that one day you will be successful at doing what you want to do and at that point MAYBE they will support you and be happy for you or MAYBE NOT. Maybe they will still have something else negative to say. And you keep going and moving forward because they just do not understand. Good luck, hope this helps!
