Issue #120 ------- July 2015
So... Summer is in full swing here in NC which means I go outside very little after 10am or prior to 7pm. I'm just NOT a fan of 90+ degree days. And if you feel the same, why not grab a long, tall glass of something cold, and find a comfy chair because I have some fun stuff to share with you this month!  :)

It looks like this fabric was tailor-made for our HipBag Hybrid! It was created by Linda Masters of Little Elm, TX. She said it would be a Mother's Day gift to her mother-in-law. Here's a peek at the back and inside the hidden inner storage area!

And something tells me that Christie Lee of Pelion, SC is a Disney fan! She says she just LOVES this Quattro that her mother-in-law made for her. What a lucky girl, no?

And if you like bling, then you'll love this fancy modified Wrapsody that Marty Campbell made. Yep, she changed the flap shape just a tad... all the better to encrust it with rhinestones me thinks! I'm a BIG fan of the way Marty used different fabrics for the three inside pockets. It gives this interior a rich look!

This HipBag Hybrid is one of THREE that Linda Masters of Little Elm, TX entered in this month's contest. She made this one for herself, along with the matching accessories you can see by clicking here (including TWO Card Cozy's).

This Wrapsody has an extra-special look! If you look closely, you'll see small rhinestones were added to the flap! The polka-dotted zips Shirley Allen of New Jersey added give the interior some added PIZZAZZ!

And here's a fabric combination I really fell in love with. Vonda Bender told me that she's not certain where she got the fabric from but when she gave this Quattro to her SIL on a Saturday night, she found out later that she had given her children strict orders that they were not to wake up sick on Sunday morning, because she was carrying this bag to church no matter what!

And I'll bet Carol Harshberger of Duncansville, PA looked extra special at her grand-daughter's wedding carrying this exceptional Boho Baguette which she created to match her outfit. Don't you just love the rhinestone zipper and crystal beads?

This impressive Quattro was created by Zoe Fields. Her embroidery added just the right touch, don't you think?  :)

This gold-medallioned HipBag Hybrid by Fran Bott of Norfolk, VA. Fran said that she made this show-stopper for her sister who uses a walker. She didn't mention what sis's reaction was....but I'm thinking she was VERY pleased to finally have a bag that she can clip to her mobility device, no? Here's a peek at a side view and inside the hidden storage area!

And finally, Linda Masters made this last HipBag Hybrid for her receptionist for her birthday. I'd say Linda has been one busy gal, wouldn't you? Here's a peek at the back and the inside.

Bobbin Around the Web- KenzieMac & Co.

Kenzie Mac & Co. is a mother/daughter business that has grown from pattern items for babies & children to include accessories and items for the home. I especially like this cute apron pattern, this twirly dress for little girls and this adorable floor tuffet, but there's LOTS more to choose from! And don't forget to check out Nancy & Lauren's social media sites before you leave so you can keep informed about new pattern offerings! You can find them on FaceBook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter.

Website Spotlite- Jamie Fingal Designs
Jamie Fingal is a self-proclaimed rebel quilter, fabric designer, teacher, and stencil designer who creates one-of-a-kind art quilts for the wall. I love her quirky color sense and especially her love of black & white striped or polka-dotted borders. Do take the time to check out her art quilts, stencil line, and her book of Embellished Mini-Quilts, although I have to say my favorite Jamie Fingal product is her brand NEW coloring book! It's printed on thicker paper than the norm so that you can use watercolors and even markers as you color, and I like having these options!

DALLAS, March 18, 2014 —
AT LAST!! Here's some NEWS worth celebrating!!!
The health benefits of eating dark chocolate have been extolled for centuries, but the exact reason has remained a mystery — until now. Researchers reported here today that certain bacteria in the stomach gobble the chocolate and ferment it into anti-inflammatory compounds that are good for the heart. (click HERE to read more)

In his first year as the creative lead at Moschino, we've seen Jeremy Scott give customers and critics his cheeky take on a number of pop cultural phenomena, including junk food, SpongeBob SquarePantsBarbie dolls, logo-mania and more. Now, for the designer's pre-fall collection — his fourth womenswear range for the Italian brand — he's once again poking fun at fashion, and this time, it's in a very literal sense.

Monthly Trivia-
Today is Saturday, the 11th day of July 2015 and did you know that there are only 173 remaining in the year! Turns out that it was also on this day in 1899 that one of my all-time favorite authors was born. E.B. White was an incredibly versatile author who was gifted with the ability to captivate adults AND children. My favorite of his books is Charlotte's Web, but you might prefer Stuart Little, or The Trumpet of the Swan. He shared his big day with the classic & prolific fashion designer Georgio Armani who was also born on this day in Romagna, Italy.
And if today is also YOUR birthday, then here's a great big "Happy Birthday to YOU" from all of us here at StudioKat Designs, and if today is NOT your birthday, you might consider celebrating this day by enjoying this little clip from the animated version of Charlotte's Web, or maybe by taking in some of what Armani has designed for Fall/Winter 2015.

Well, that's it for now, so until next month, remember!
It's a GREAT day to be sewing!
