sinister fun on
FRIDAY
the 13th
of November

(that’s this Friday)
Outer Spice Cafe, Plainfield.

About half and half:
Dark Tales from (ahem) legendary storytelling master Tim Jennings,
Hard-Luck Ballads from eclectic music trio Sanctuary Mutts.

This will be the next to last appearance of the Mutts (Tim concertina & vocals, Grant Orenstein guitar, Dave Gaillard standup bass) before next spring, as Dave will be leaving at the end of September for winter quarters.

Tales will include a ghost story Tim tried to tell unsuccessfully for 20 years, before getting this fail-safe version from a 5th grader in Chester Vermont during the mid-eighties. Also, the one about God, the Devil, Death and a whole chicken, from a Mexican ESL student in Chicago at about the same time, a puerile children’s faux-scary story, the first tale Tim and Leanne learned to tell together, and probably one more. Not a kids’ show!

Lots of music, including old ballads, new ballads, instrumentals, and a bunch of westerns, featuring a new-to-us debut. All with a Friday the 13th color. Come if you can.

If you have any social media presence, or a fine RL social presence, please spread the word!

7-9 PM • $10
