D-3 BEFORE THE SUN TRIP TOUR AUVERGNE-RHÔNE-ALPES!
43 participants on Sun Trip Tour 2017 will soon start riding around the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region!
Departing in Clermont-Ferrand on Saturday, July 8, our solar cycles will roam on the mountains all across the region, going through Le Puy-en-Velay, Lans-en-Vercors, Val d'Isère, Lausanne & Trévoux, ending in Lyon on July 21. On this first Regional Edition of the Sun Trip, solar bicycle rally founded in 2013 between France and Kazakhstan, they will be riding over 1000 km.
Featuring participants ranging from ages 8 to 64, the Sun Trip Tour 2017 is a general public adventure on a playground that has nothing to envy to the Tour de France. In each of the seven stage-cities, our participants will be ambassadors of a new form of mobility, demonstrating that solar energy allows a greater freedom while experiencing the great emotions of some of the greatest passes in the French Alps.
This adventure has been made possible thanks to a major partnership with the Région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and the cities welcoming us. The Sun Trip Tour 2017 will be featured every day the France 3 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes channel, our major media partner.
July 8-21 from Clermont-Ferrand to Lyon, it’s a rendezvous for new emotions until the return of the original Sun Trip in 2018, from Lyon to Canton, China !

 What an event, the Sun Trip Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes ! Even more now that the Region launched the most ambitious development plan for cycling paths and greenways in its history.
With over 400 km of greenways by 2021, we indeed want to affirm the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region leadership for cyclotourism – the most beautiful greenway in Europe but also the most innovating, leaving room for experimentation for a section made of solar concrete. Associated with electric or hydrogen bikes, this is meant to become a model at the European level.
The Sun Trip Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is therefore incredibly timely: demonstrating that our region is the ideal playground for those who dream of combining environnement and innovation!

SUN TRIP TOUR 2017 PARTICIPANTS
 With a majority of French people, our participants also come from Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, USA and India. They are between 8 and 64 years old. Three of them already took part in a greater Sun Trip Edition.
The Sun Trip Tour’s diversity of participants will reflect our first editions: heterogeneous and sharing the will to travel differently.
In total, this first Regional Edition of the Sun Trip Tour 2017 in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes will see over 36 solar cycles for 43 participants on the departure line.

SUSHIL REDDY : AN INDIAN ON THE SUN TRIP!
Furthermore, he holds since last summer the honorary Guinness World Records for the longest motorized bicycle trip following a 7500 km tour in India!

IN 2018... CHINA, FROM LYON TO CANTON!
After Kazakhstan in 2013 and Turkey in 2015, we are proud to announce the 3rd Edition of the Sun Trip between Lyon and Canton in China on the Summer 2018!
Around 12 000 km through 10 countries, the Sun Trip 2018 will follow the New Silk Roads for the 30th anniversary of the Lyon-Canton (Guangzhou) collaboration. The cities are respectively the second and the third largest of France and China.
With this third edition, we aim to make the Sun Trip into the world’s greatest land adventure.
We can already count over 40 pre-registrations from all around the world!
