Dear classic car enthusiast,
October was a wonderful month for driving and photographing classic cars. Today, I am pleased to present a varied selection of eleven newly arrived classics for sale. I have also been busy experimenting with the Meta glasses to create first-person-view videos. You will find these videos with most of the cars featured below. The recordings are completely spontaneous, pure and unedited, so any slip of the tongue, crunchy gearchange or slightly uneven engine note can be heard in all its glory.
Above, you will see a highly original and beautiful Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1300 Sprint, eligible for the Mille Miglia in 2027. Further down, you will find a 1954 Triumph TR2 'Long Door'; either of these cars could be your ticket to this extraordinary event. Also featured are two exceptionally rare Facel Vega automobiles, a Nash-Healey Pininfarina Roadster, an Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 Spider, an Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I, an MG VA Four-Seat Tourer and a Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet. Particularly spectacular are the two Bentleys: an original, rare and imposing 1930 8-Litre, and a sensational Bentley 3/8 Racer built by Racing Green Engineering. Facel Vega FV4 ‘Hemi Typhoon’, year of manufacture 1958. This is a ‘matching numbers’ car. Finished in ‘Bleu Nuit métallisé’ (night-blue metallic), paired with a full leather interior in dark red (‘rouge foncé’), red headlining, and red carpeting. This magnificent Facel Vega FV4 is one of only 32 examples built as part of the second series of the Facel Vega FV. This fantastic specimen has been extensively restored and mechanically overhauled by the renowned Facel Vega specialist Ian Webb from Cornwall (UK). Subsequently, additional work and maintenance were carried out by the marque specialist Amicale Facel Holland. The car is in very good to excellent condition and offers an impressive driving experience. The 6.4-litre Chrysler ‘Typhoon’ Hemi V8 engine produces 375 hp and immense torque, accompanied by a truly superb exhaust note. The restoration was executed to an exceptional standard; even years later, the car shows only minimal signs of use. Facel Vega is a unique marque, and this FV4 represents that heritage in grand fashion. | ALFA ROMEO GIULIA 1600 SPIDER, 1964 | |

Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 Spider, 1964. Production date: September 17, 1964. Finished in light yellow (Giallo Paglierino) combined with a black (Nero) leatherette interior and black carpeting. According to the Alfa Romeo ‘Certificate of Origin,’ this Tipo 101.23 Giulia Spider was sold new in Newark, USA. The car retains the same serial numbers and colour scheme as when it left the factory in 1964! In March 1972, the car was imported to the Netherlands. On June 15, 1982, the Giulia Spider was purchased by its last private owner. The car remained part of a collection until 2026, when it was acquired by S2 Classic Cars. During the 44 years it was held in long-term ownership, the car underwent a restoration prior to the year 2000. An original factory hardtop is included; however, it is not specific to this particular vehicle and would require adjustments to the lower edge to ensure a proper fit. In 2025, the car was mechanically serviced and brought back to roadworthy condition. This beautiful Giulia 1600 Spider is in very good condition and drives delightfully.

| BENTLEY 3/8 RACER BY RACING GREEN ENGINEERING, 1953 | |

Bentley 3/8 Racer by Racing Green Engineering, chassis year 1953. This impressive Bentley Special was hand-built by Racing Green Engineering from South Wales (UK) and completed in 2018. The car is finished in burgundy red, featuring a gloss-black chassis and gloss-black wire wheels. A black mohair tonneau cover is included. The interior is equipped with black rubber floor coverings and bucket seats upholstered in tan leather. This spectacular machine is based on the chassis of a 1953 Bentley Mk VI, which was fully restored and reinforced to accommodate a thoroughly overhauled 6516cc Bentley B81 straight-eight engine, paired with a fully synchronized four-speed manual Bentley gearbox. The coachwork is a masterpiece of craftsmanship; the design draws inspiration from the lines and details of historic racing cars and was executed with exceptional skill by the artisans at Racing Green Engineering. The build quality and finish represent the very best to be found in the world of classic cars. This Bentley has had only one owner, who primarily admired the vehicle while it was kept in his garage; the car is in sublime, near-new condition and has covered only 998 miles since its completion. | TRIUMPH TR2 'LONG DOOR', 1954 | |

Triumph TR2 ‘Long Door’, bouwjaar 1954. Uitgevoerd in lichtgrijs (met een subtiele groene zweem) in combinatie met een donkerrood lederen interieur en bijpassende vloerbedekking. Rode vinyl soft-top en zijruitjes. Deze Triumph-roadster is een vroeg ‘Long Door’-model; een versie die slechts in 1953 en 1954 werd geproduceerd. Na de productie van ongeveer 4.000 exemplaren werden de portieren ingekort, omdat ze bij het openen de neiging hadden hogere stoepranden te raken. De Triumph TR2 markeerde het begin van het legendarische Triumph TR-verhaal, dat eindigde met het uitfaseren van de TR8 in oktober 1981. Deze TR2 werd nieuw verkocht in de VS en in 1998 naar Nederland geïmporteerd. Tussen 2002 en 2004 onderging de auto een uitgebreide ‘body-off’-restauratie en revisie. Sindsdien is de auto gekoesterd en met veel plezier bereden door zijn enige Nederlandse eigenaar. De auto is door de jaren heen met grote zorg onderhouden en deze historie is volledig gedocumenteerd. De auto verkeert in zeer goede staat en vertoont slechts lichte gebruikssporen. De rijervaring is fantastisch; weinig klassieke auto's bieden zo'n intense open rijervaring als de TR2- en TR3-series! | NASH-HEALEY PININFARINA ROADSTER, 1953 | |

1953 Nash-Healey Pininfarina Roadster. Finished in cream white, paired with a red leather interior and matching red carpeting. Equipped with a black mohair soft-top. This stunning Nash-Healey Pininfarina Roadster was sold new in the United States and is said to have been owned by the American businessman, governor, and politician Mitt Romney. His father, George Romney, worked for Nash-Kelvinator during the period when Nash was involved with the Nash-Healey sports car, and he served as CEO of American Motors from 1954 to 1962. The Nash-Healey features a 140 hp Nash Ambassador inline-six engine, a chassis designed by Healey, and a body styled and built by Pininfarina: a combination of American power with European design and driving characteristics. The Nash-Healey gained renown for its blend of performance, luxury, and exclusivity. Today, the examples styled by Pininfarina are considered among the most beautiful roadsters of the 1950s. This particular car underwent a restoration in the United States in the past. The restoration is of a high standard: the bodywork is smooth, the panel gaps and door fit are excellent, and the undercarriage is in solid condition. This is a magnificent example, featuring wonderful original details. An exceptional classic car that is ready to be enjoyed!

Facel Vega Facellia Cabriolet, year of manufacture 1961. This is a ‘matching-numbers’ car from the initial FA series. It is finished in dark blue metallic with a black mohair soft top and an interior upholstered in light brown (dark beige) leather, complemented by matching carpeting. This rare Facellia Cabriolet, of which only 679 units were built between March 1960 and June 1962, comes from an owner who spent twenty (!) years having it thoroughly restored and overhauled. The final touches and fine-tuning were recently carried out by Amicale Facel Holland. This Facellia Cabriolet is in superb, top-tier condition and drives fantastically. The 1646 cc ‘Pont-à-Mousson’ engine, featuring dual overhead camshafts, produces approximately 120 hp, providing this relatively lightweight car (1050 kg) with lively, sporty performance. The handling, steering, four-speed manual transmission, and all other controls feel precise and direct; they inspire confidence and allow the driver to fully enjoy the car. This cabriolet offers a unique classic driving experience, characterized by a distinct sense of joie de vivre and exclusivity—qualities also found in the rare and prestigious V8-powered Facel Vega models. | ALFA ROMEO GIULIETTA 1300 SPRINT, 1956 | |

Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1300 Sprint, manufactured in 1956, first registered in October 1956. According to the birth certificate from the Alfa Romeo archives, this is a ‘matching numbers’ car featuring its original colours. This Giulietta is eligible for participation in the Mille Miglia. The car is finished in 'Rosso Alfa Romeo' (Alfa Red), paired with a two-tone interior in red and beige (faux leather and cloth), complemented by red carpeting. This early 750-series Giulietta Sprint was sold new in Munich, Germany, but was shortly thereafter registered in the Netherlands. This fantastic Giulietta Sprint comes from a private collection, having been held by the same owner since 1984. S2 Classic Cars recently acquired a selection of vehicles from this collection. The Alfa Romeo was driven regularly until 2007, after which it remained on display as part of the collection. In 2025, the car underwent technical servicing to ensure it is road-ready once again. Applications have been submitted to the 1000 Miglia Registro for event entry and to the FIVA for an identity card. The rear bumper is being refitted, and the car is being brought up to date technically. A sublime piece of Alfa Romeo heritage, ready to be enjoyed in a future Mille Miglia, historic regularity rallies, touring events, and other motoring occasions.

MG VA Four-Seat Tourer, year of manufacture 1939. Finished in a two-tone green exterior, paired with a black interior, black carpeting, a black soft top, a black tonneau cover, and black side-screen frames. This magnificent MG VA is a rare ‘Four-Seat Tourer’ variant; only 564 examples of this type were built, out of a total production run of 2,407 MG VA vehicles (which includes the Tickford Drophead Coupé and saloon models). This MG was originally delivered in the United Kingdom, where it underwent an extensive restoration in the past, with a strong focus on maintaining originality. A photographic record of the restoration is included. The car comes with a very comprehensive history file, containing some remarkably old British documents. The MG VA was introduced in 1937 as a larger, more refined complement to the MG TA. Built in Abingdon, the model combined MG’s signature sporty character with greater comfort and practicality for longer journeys. This MG VA comes from a private collection, where it has remained stationary for some time. The vehicle is in very good, highly original condition and drives remarkably well for an 87-year-old pre-war car. The price listed below applies to the car in its current condition ('as is'). Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I (BT7), year 1960. Finished in Ice Blue Metallic with a blue leather interior and blue carpeting. The car is equipped with a blue mohair soft-top, a blue mohair tonneau cover, and a hard-top in body-colour. This Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I was imported into the Netherlands in 1996. Approximately 25 years ago, this ‘matching-numbers’ example underwent an extensive restoration, a mechanical overhaul, and several detailed modifications. In 2014, Classic Open sold this magnificent Austin-Healey 3000 Mk I to its current owner, who has thoroughly enjoyed the car ever since. The maintenance history has been fully documented from that point forward. The vehicle is in very good condition and drives excellently. During the restoration and overhaul, the car was given a rugged, rally-inspired look: the front and rear bumpers were removed, chrome ‘bumperettes’ were fitted at the rear, and impressive Lucas SLR700 ‘Flamethrower’ driving lights were added to the front. Additionally, the rear ride height was slightly increased to provide greater ground clearance and improved driving comfort. The six-cylinder engine was upgraded with three larger SU carburettors (sourced from a Mk III model) increasing the output to 150 hp. The original wire wheels were replaced with robust, Minilite-style alloy wheels, featuring attractive chrome knock-off center nuts. This fantastic ‘Big Healey’ is a superb driver’s car for enthusiasts seeking the pure experience of a classic British roadster!

Bentley 8-Litre, manufactured in 1930. The chassis, engine, and steering box are original from the factory and feature ‘matching numbers.’ The exterior is finished in a very dark blue, complemented by a black leather interior and black carpeting. It is equipped with a grey mohair soft top and a matching grey tonneau cover. This impressive and massive Bentley 8-Litre was originally sold in the United Kingdom to Mr. R. Rowley, fitted with a four-door sports sedan body by the Carlton Carriage Company. Subsequent owners included Mr. J.H. Dudley-Ward and Mr. R.M.R. Eckard. In 1965, the car was unveiled with a new four-seater ‘open tourer’ body, crafted by the firm Hoffmann & Burton. Following its restoration and the new coachwork, the car was presented at the Bentley Club meeting in Kensington Gardens, where this exceptional Bentley was named the event’s champion. This impressive and rare Bentley 8-Litre is mentioned, described, and illustrated in several books on the marque, including *Bentley: 50 Years of the Marque* by Johnnie Green (published in 1969, page 130, featuring a photograph of the car in its current configuration), *Bentley: The Vintage Years* by Michael Hay (published in 1997), and the specialized booklet *The How and Where of the 8-Litre Bentleys* by Stanley Sedgwick (published in 1972). This magnificent Bentley 8-Litre is in excellent, beautiful ‘vintage’ condition, possessing a lovely patina earned through use. Between October 1930 and December 1932, only one hundred Bentley 8-Litre production cars were delivered. This is a unique opportunity to purchase a very rare Bentley 8-Litre with a superbly documented history and provenance!

Volkswagen Beetle 1303 Cabriolet, year 1978. First registered on February 28, 1978. Finished in white, combined with a black leatherette interior and black carpeting. This beautiful Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet was sold new in the United States. The car was imported to the Netherlands in June 2011 and purchased by the current owner in May 2017. This original Karmann convertible has been well-maintained over the years. A rebuilt 1303 engine has been installed, the bodywork was repainted in 2020, a new mohair soft top was professionally fitted in 2021, and the fuel injection system was replaced with a carburetor system in 2023. All work was carried out by specialists. The owner and his family have greatly enjoyed taking the car out for scenic tours and weekend drives. This Volkswagen Beetle is in very good condition and drives excellently. The next owner will undoubtedly enjoy many more miles of open-top driving pleasure in this timeless classic.
