First of all: we'd like to remind you that our Fad Gadget / Frank Tovey tribute band, Collapsing New People, is playing a FREE gig this Saturday, August 22, in Sint-Niklaas (B)!
Secondly, the BIMFEST 2026 line-up has been complete for a while now, and all Blind Bird and Early Bird tickets are gone!

New Wave Night kicks off with a legendary live act: Crash Course in Science. Back in 1979, this American cult band was already at the forefront of the alternative electronic music scene. With their uncompromising, minimalist sound (long before the term “minimal electro” even existed), they became pioneers of a genre. Their iconic track “Flying Turns”, a repetitive trip filled with dark synths and strange sounds, became a worldwide underground hit and a staple in dark clubs across the globe. Although their discography remained relatively limited, their influence only grew stronger. Almost every influential DJ and producer would later refer to Crash Course in Science as one of the founding forces behind the electroclash scene of the early 2000s. Since 2009, they have been back on stage, and their hypnotic live show is the perfect way to kick off our New Wave Night.
