1. SPONSORED 8th ORPHAN HOME!
 
By the grace of God and the generosity of so many, we sponsored our 8th orphan home!  The Mighty in the Land FOUNDATION just granted $37,132 to care for 40 beautiful children who are mentally or physically disabled, homeless, and destitute in Kingston, Jamaica.  They are cared for by the remarkable Missionaries of the Poor.
 
 
What began in 2004 after my missionary trip to the tsunami-stricken regions of India, Mighty in the Land FOUNDATION has blossomed into a divinely fruitful effort to help "care for orphans and special-needs children, worldwide" (the FOUNDATION mission statement).  Our initial vision of 5 homes on 5 continents (in honor of my 5 Heavenly family members) has now expanded to 8 homes around the world.  
 
This is God's work.  With God, all things are possible, indeed.  Amazingly, over $477,000 has been given on behalf of orphans and special-needs children through the Mighty in the Land FOUNDATION.  Glory be to God!  Thank you to all who have helped make it possible!!  (from direct donors as well as our ongoing Mighty in the Land Ministry tithe.)
 
2. Our son, Ezekiel, turned 10...
 
On July 27, our son, Ezekiel Thomas Rogers, turned 10!  What a blessed birthday (with scrumptious homemade cake).  
 
Ezekiel is our first child into double-digits!  This is big moment for Inga and me as parents (and completely unchartered territory for us).  Please pray for us.  We are so very blessed to have 4 healthy, happy children (ages 10, 8, 6, and 5 now).  We home-educate them and savor every moment together (amidst every challenge along the way).  God is great...all the time.  I love and cherish my wife and family beyond words.
 
 
 
3. Devotion: Radiate Jesus...
 
"Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces." (Psalm 34:5)
 
I was impacted during one of my morning daily devotion times this week at how Moses radiated God's glory in his face. (The first halo!)  What was his "secret"? 
 
"When Moses came down Mount Sinai carrying the two stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, he wasn’t aware that his face had become radiant because he had spoken to the LORD."  (Exodus 34:29)
 
Spend time basking in God's Presence.  Soak Him up like a sponge.  Pray all day.  
 
If you become saturated with God's Word - the Good News - in the morning, then any bad news for the remainder of the day can't penetrate or permeate your soul.  If a dry cloth is soaked in water and then soaked in gasoline, it won't absorb any of the smelly fuel.  Likewise, if you immerse yourself in God's presence, then none of the stinky junk that flies our way the rest of the day can stick to us.
 
"...and the people of Israel would see the radiant glow of his face. So he would put the veil over his face until he returned to speak with the LORD." (Exodus 34:35)
 
After my 5 family members died nearly 14 years ago in the Kansas flash-flood, the only way I was able to continue functioning (and even smiling) was by spending significant time in Adoration, Scripture, and Prayer with Almighty God.  I encountered Jesus in a deeper and more tangible way than ever before.  Even after the flash-flood, people often commented to me that I seemed to "glow" with God's Holy Spirit.  It was (and still is) all God.
